[ OOC: This post is here to facilitate IC interaction between the organized groups in Asgard. Think of it as an in-character version of this plotting post. Please feel free to use this as much as you need!


How it Works: Think of this like a very basic message board. Each group will have a subject heading in the comments, and only members of that group will be able to see what is in that thread. There is no locking or privating of messages between individual characters in this post. Just like a message board, all characters who have access to a thread will be able to see everything in it. Of course, feel more than free to take conversations to inboxes or logs - we want it to be easy to build CR from this!

This is an alternative to having to send out a dozen IC inbox messages. ICly, this is just a group messaging feature, to kick around ideas and to make communication and CR-building between group members easier.

If you're interested in getting more involved in group things, we recommend that you track the headers relevant to you! As always, if you have any questions, please let us know. ]

[Oh boy, this was going to be one interesting conversation wasn’t it?]

Um, you can just give me your hand and we can just introduce ourselves that way? I don’t it is difficult but if you are uncomfortable with it, I don’t mind it though!

[Just...it will take some time getting use to being someone who was so formal…]

I... very well, then.

[After a few moments, she gracefully offers her hand to Fuuka - but palm down, as though she half-expects her to kiss it. She was perfectly willing to exchange greetings with the other girl in this manner, but was this truly what was normal in her world?]

[For a few moments, Fuuka stared at it wondering what else to do. She was wondering why it was faced that way but she eventually grabbed it from the other side with her hand to shake it.

This is awkward]

So that wasn't so hard was it? [...yeah about that...]

[So, so awkward. Maribelle simply stared at the gesture, unable to comprehend it.]

I... don't believe so, no.

[What.]

That’s what they call a handshake back in my world. It’s a way to greet other people without bowing to one another. We don’t have to be so formal but there are times you have to do that to your superiors.

But I’m not one of them, I’m just your friend?

[Or at least she hopes so!]

Oh! Goodness, what a quaint custom. Is it how all plebeians greet one another, or is it also practiced by the nobility?

[She's not trying to be insulting, Fuuka, she really isn't.]

Friend? Why, gracious me, how very sweet. Well, then... yes. I would very much like to become friends with you.

Um...I don't think it really matters? Nobility still reigns in different countries but they do greet one another in this matter.

[....Yeah, Fuuka has no idea how to address that]

But I suppose I can teach you later more about this as soon as we're done our training?

[Between teaching Equius about 'dating' and Maribelle about how to be casual? This had been one interesting stay here in Asgard. Good thing she was normally so patient.]

[She laughs, then, as though amused.]

Very well. I will gladly accept this "training" from you, as well.

Only on special occasions such as meeting for the first time or if there is someone who is far higher rank than you are. Of course, the only time I've seen it happen is when both people are in business

Then shall we get started? You can teach me more about to fight and defend myself while I teach you how to be more informal?

I see. Your world is, no doubt, very different from mine.

I would be glad to, Fuuka... but perhaps we ought to do such exercises outside.

I don't think it's that much different, it's just different in how we greet people now.

[Well, minus all the technological advances and all but that's for another time!]

Oh right, how silly of me! Um, should we get started here?

Still, it does take getting used to.

Here is perfect. Now, what shall we practice first?

[yamagishi]

[That was a good question, what can say practice first?]

Um...whatever you want to start first? I don't really know the basics about self defense so I'm not really too sure what to do?

[What a great start to defending yourself]

[Oh, bother. She doesn't have an extra parasol on her. Oh, well; they can make do.]

Perhaps it might be best to practice Charm before I show you the art of self-defense.

[And make no mistake - Maribelle makes damn sure it's an art when she engages in it.]

That’s fine by me, I don’t mind.

[She said before taking a small step behind her to wait for what might happen next] Um...this charm ability, it is the ability to calm another person right? Is there anything else I should be worried about?

Very well.

All it can do at my current level is soothe another. I know it becomes much more - shall we say, emotionally invested - when it grows stronger.

[yamagishi]

[And somehow? That doesn’t seem all that different from Minato’s power back home]

I suppose that isn’t too bad. I have a friend who could do something similar back home but…

[She trailed off. Shortly afterwards, she closed her eyes as though signaling her to do her best with her ability on her.]

[Maribelle focuses, allowing her ability - currently a feeling of soothing calm - to wash over the other girl.

She doesn't say anything for the moment, instead waiting to see what, if any, effect her ability is having.]

[yamagishi]

[If there was anything, Fuuka could feel it. Suddenly, her worries about what would happen were put at ease. As a wave of warmth rushed through her, she opened to her eyes and look at Maribelle]

Whatever you did, I think it worked? [She found herself a little surprised, she wasn’t excepting that]

[Still focusing her efforts on maintaining her abilities, Maribelle looks curiously at the other girl.]

Really? Well, then, perhaps you would not mind allowing me to practice a little more?

[yamagishi]

I don’t see why not? As long as we’re trying to help one another, it should be fine by me!

[She said before blinking a little at the other girl. How odd, she thought to herself, she hadn’t felt this calm for a while now. At least, not when she arrived in Asgard anyway.]

Thank you.

[With that, she continues to focus her abilities, noting inwardly that they're really nothing like the magic she's accustomed to using.]

Tell me, do you believe this may help people in need of healing?

[yamagishi]

I think it might! When there is someone who is injured, I think the first thing people would do is panic. So if you are able to calm others, it would be a good way to help!

[At least, that's her opinion anyway]

I believe so, too. I wonder how long the range is...

[With that, she takes a few steps back, then several, still concentrating.]
