[The Tony that greets the network with a sly smirk, one that doesn't quite reach his eyes, isn't the same man that left Asgard a few days ago. Noticeably, he has a hair cut and a few new bruises.. He's also dressed in a way that is not suspicious at all.]

So did anyone actually explain to the gods that it's very rude to send someone home just so they could watch their mansion get blown up? Oh, and don't forget the terrorist who kidnapped my girlfriend. It's just not kosher. You could at least warn a guy. I've got a heart condition, you know.

I'm assuming that these trips back to our worlds are a common occurrence then?

[At least he knows for certain that he didn't actually die in that wormhole. But it isn't as comforting of an idea as Tony originally thought it would be.]

I'm also assuming I haven't missed much. At least it looks like you guys didn't trash the place again--you can't honestly expect me to believe it was an earthquake last time.

[Bruce asks, coming back into the room as soon as that little announcement is over, tea tray in hand.]

I mean, after the kidnapping. That sounds potentially traumatic.

[ so she's not bffs with Tony Stark ~~NOT YET~~ but it doesn't take a deep personal connection with someone to get that they're genuinely not feeling the timing of this place. it sucks, getting pulled out of your world during something important. so she tries not to press on that point, if anything maybe offer an easy distraction ]

It really was an earthquake. I mean, I think it was caused by giants or something, or maybe an angry goddess, but it was definitely an earthquake. The whole world just- shook around.

[ she's even holding her hands up and shaking them, as if he needs a visual. hey, she's from NYC, they don't get earthquakes like that on the east coast ]

[Oh tea. Tony was sure it was comforting for someone, somewhere, but he just didn't see the appeal in drinking hot leaf juice. He'd rather drink a smoothie with leaf juice--... or spinach.]

Dating me is traumatic. This is nothing compared to that.

[He's not really sure who he's trying to convince, himself or Bruce. Because if he was being honest, he didn't actually know if Pepper was okay. Or even alive.

Which was something he definitely did not want to think about, considering the way his breathing catches momentarily before he waves Bruce to the seat across from him. Having a panic attack in front of a kid was one thing. But he wasn't doing this in front of Bruce.]

[Tony motions to the numerous cuts.]

This is nothing.

[He takes his own pause before nodding.]

Yeah, not for long apparently. But, long enough.

[~~He's already got a BFF. One who apparently doesn't like him enough to listen to his stories.~~ So maybe he's in the market for a new best friend. And she's definitely earning brownie points by not asking him about home.]

Likely story, but I wouldn't know. I was too busy playing house with some natives.

[Oddly, Bruce is actually much, much more appropriate to panic in front of, and probably much more helpful. He sets the tray down, and then sinks into the seat opposite.]

Drop your shoulders. Brace your feet flat on the floor, and engage them. Shift your weight forward onto your toes and then back again.

[As he sets up preparing two cups of tea, Tony's preferences be damned.]

In charge of the weather or in charge of giving a decent forecast of said weather, at the very least. A little warning would've been nice.

[ are they really talking about the weather? they really are. it's her fault, she started it. but still. it's almost too predictable, as a distraction ]

So what's with the hoodie? Is that what you wear when you're trying to walk around in public but don't want to be noticed? [ like a celeb hiding from the paparazzi ]

I see... [her small smile fades. the thought of going back to Columbia & then returning here doesn't sit well with her.]

They are not so uncommon, though those who depart are just as likely not to remember when they return.

[ She's assuming Tony at least vaguely recognizes her. That may be a little egotistical, but hey, she's a Hawkeye, he's a fellow Avenger, she's met him... a few times... and she hasn't really figured out that she isn't an Avenger in other universes. Which totally sucks, by the way. ]

[Tony does as he's told, more from reflex than conscious thought, but it's not without protest.]

I'm sorry if it's strange to say this, but I'm glad you're back. [Elizabeth is grateful for all the friends she has in Asgard. even if they all were brought here against their will.]

Um - I'm sorry about what happened with you're girlfriend, though. I hope she's all right.

[He laughs, a bit forced.]

Something like that. You say hiding from the paparazzi--I say terrorist ring. What's the real difference?
