♛ 9th Curious Thought || Day 397 [Video]

[It's early in the morning, Asgard. The feed starts with a young woman, clearly older, though there is something familiar about her, looking for all the world unamused. She is pinning up her hair.]

I do see Asgard hasn't changed too drastically in its notions of abducting someone without much notice, lady or otherwise.

[She finally finishes the task of her hair, mumbling something about "not even in proper attire" though some of it is a little too softly muttered to understand.]

Regardless, 15 years, I dare say, is a good deal to let someone away only to have insist upon their return, to the same house, I see. I would have nearly forgotten this place with another year, I'm sure.

[She quirks a brow. She's remembering bits and pieces, and is surprised, if internally, at the fact that she's apparently in her "old room." She's not even sure who is and isn't here anymore. Dragons, mayhaps, never age, so Marigold resting his head in her lap is not as much of indicator as she would like.]

Well then, I suppose, what have I missed, Asgard? If there is indeed something to have been missed. I recall Asgard's relationship with Time has always been something questionable.

[OOC: SO! Alice has been cursed to believe she was sent home for 15 years and brought back to Asgard as a now 22 year old. In actuality, she's just been aged up and hasn't left Asgard at all, she is in fact, mentally 22 though.]

Alice ...?

[ 15 years? Is that-- She'd be 22 then. Permanently? But that's her room. Since when have people come back to their room? And if she was sleeping, would she have changed at all? He doesn't know how far the gods can take the sleeping thing. No one's slept to live 15 years back home.

Might be temporary, he supposes, but ... ]

[The would be older Alice has to look her over few times. Just studying for any sort of flaw, any sort of scar. It leaves her clammy and dizzy to think that little girl had gone through the same thing as she did. She looks far healthier than she does, for that matter. Not like a pale, ivory skin Alice, who is far too slender. Underweight as Nan Sharpe would point out many, many times. No dark circles from sleepless nights. No scars.

She's shaking just a little, hoping for something to reassure her that... she did not become like her. Alice isn't even that upset, no, as long as she's not like her.]

[She takes it relatively calmly.]

I'm afraid not much would change in a day.

[Sonya does a double take.]

Alice? [She's older, yes, but there are traces of the same eight year old girl that she recognizes.]

I don't think it's been fifteen years. We haven't seen eachother in awhile, but I know it hasn't been fifteen years.

[Wait a minute. She wasn't gone that long, was she? No, he distinctly remembers seeing her in Aflheim yesterday. How could she have gone to bed and woke up all...grown up? That doesn't fit anything they know about the way things work with these gods.

Or maybe the gods are getting worse about dropping people, but better at picking them up again.]

Alice... well...

Goodness, how you've grown.

[Well done, Eight. When all else fails, state the obvious.]

That's the thing, Alice. Nothing. People are still sulking about the indiscreet diary find. But nothing's actually happened.

That's..strange, but then I've been told that this place likes to pull people back and forth. I swear I just saw you in my class last week.

[She rubs the bridge of her nose. She has a lot on her mind at the moment and this is clearly not something she wants to focus on.] Disorientation aside, are you okay?

They brought you back after fifteen years?

[Kinda glad she only had a few hours back home now.]

[He stares at the image on the screen for a long time before answering. He knew this would happen some day, it was only a matter of time. That doesn't make him like it any more. And her words... I would have nearly forgotten this place with another year, I'm sure. They hurt, so much. And this is coming at the worst time, just after Jade and Rapunzel leaving. Dammit.

He gulps before speaking, voice lacking his usual cheer.]

...you haven't missed anything. It hasn't been that long here.

[It's only natural -- how could either of them not be? What matters is she didn't end up the way she did.]

How ever it may be, that seems to be how it always is in Asgard. I wish I could say I was surprised by that.

In Asgard? It is how you would have left it.
