[Jane's been gone for a couple of weeks; not that she has many people who were likely to be looking for her yet. Her time as a grey person doesn't seem to have dampened her any, though; she looks almost determinedly cheerful sitting in front of the camera, eyes bright from having learned something new.]

So, anyone else who's new and might be thinking about taking off their bracelet for a while, apparently, that ends in going colorless. It doesn't actually hurt, so worse things could have happened, but it's good to know if you were thinking of trying it. [She shrugs, spreading her hands in a 'what are you gonna do?' kind of gesture.]

Kara Thrace? If you're still available for setting up self-defense lessons, can you contact me? --Or, ah, you know, anyone else, for that matter. I could probably use the help.

What is it like, then? If you don't mind my asking. [For science, etc.]

[For science is the best reasoning. Jane shrugs, taking a moment afterwards to gather her words, trying to describe the experience.] It's almost like sleepwalking. Existing on a basic level. I wasn't... me, really.

And then somebody brought me this [she taps the bracelet, even though it's not onscreen to really show] and I was again. No worse for the wear, as far as I can tell.

Personally, I prefer researching to practical experience if I can help it, but, ah... kudos?

[ The first time he set the device to record, he was in such haste that the poor thing was placed diagonally.

The second time, he jammed all buttons, quite possibly at the same time.

The third time is - joy to the world! - a charm, and don't mind Thor just. Beaming. At both Jane and his Great Success against Foreign Technology. ]

Then, you will have it. You will have everything you need, without pause or failing. I so swear it.

[A shrug.] Research is good, but sometimes you can't beat practical experience as a way to learn.

Going colorless--[ HMM. ] Tell me, if it does not hurt, then what is it like? [ Gotta learn about Asgard.]

[Her first answer is just to gape, because... of all the answers she expected, of all the people she might have expected to show up? Thor is not one of them. If only because, well, she did do her research. And does that mean there's two Thors running around now? How does that work?

Gaping only lasts so long though. Even logistics questions only last a minute. Because all of that gives way to grinning like an idiot.]

You're here? You're here! --Wait, how long have you been here? Because last I checked there was only... the other Thor. And I checked. [It's Asgard. There was a chance.]

It doesn't feel like much. I kind of -- forgot myself, I guess. Hung out with the natives for a while. Life just went on, and it was like I was one of them.

[ So blending in to the extreme. ] Were you able to think, at all, or were you completely lost to all notion of self?

Sometimes one needs one to inform the other.

Hm. [Charles frowns and wishes he still had his telepathy for the seventy-billionth time since arriving. Until he remembers - ] If there's not any real danger, like you said, I think I might try and wrangle someone with reasonably developed telepathy to have a look at what's going on at a subconscious level. I mean, it's interesting, and it's not as though the gods are very forthcoming other than calling it a sickness. Presuming no one's done it before, of course.

[ It works beautifully, if only because it means there is now a Thor deadset on grinning blindingly right back. ]

Perhaps I am so small and feeble your eye missed quarry when it searched.

[ Yes. Look at him. Small. And feeble. ]

You are well? Unwounded? You've kept away from the battlefield?

The Citadel has a more formal atmosphere for self-defense training, if you would be interested.

[She considers carefully, nodding slowly after a moment.] I don't think it could hurt. If you're planning on having somebody take it off to get their head prodded -- you or someone else -- you might want to make arrangements with somebody to get your bracelet back to you or them after a few days. Just to be safe. Like I said, I was brought mine, but that's not a guarantee that that happens every time.

Other than that, it would be interesting to see, and I'd really like to see your results if you're going to try it. Or help, if you need it.

Exactly! [She smiles a little.] If everyone was shy about getting involved and trying something to see what happens, no one would ever learn anything new.

[ Yeah, her only response to that is a small, snorting laugh of disbelief. Small and feeble? Really? ]

Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I know some things cropped up a while ago, but I was outside the city when it did. So far, so good.... As good as being kidnapped to a new world can be, I guess. [ A second's pause, as her tongue's tied between 'how are you' and: ] Where are you? I mean -- can I meet you somewhere?

I could think, my brain worked, I just thought like them, as far as I can tell? I forgot I had a life outside of Asgard, or that I ever had been anywhere else. I wasn't thinking like me.

Yes. Definitely. Thank you. Where is that?

[He smiles back, but that was not the point he was making. In fact, the opposite was his point.] Yes, but equally, one should really check if it has happened before engaging in experimentation. If only to refine?

Well, yes. Research is essential, but not everything requires research first. Sometimes opportunity is in front of you and the best choice is to seize it now and research what happened later. If you're doing hard science or planning on publishing your results, then yeah, research until your eyes are bleeding before you try anything, but if not.... Sometimes the deep end is the easiest place to start.

Easiest does not translate into wisest. If your bracelet hadn't been retrieved in good time, then you would have been indistinguishable from the natives thus making returning it impossible and you would have been lost.

Asking what happens when you have take off the bracelet would have prevented you losing your sense of self, which I'm given to understand is something most of us are quite attached to? [Correct him if he's wrong, Jane.] At the very least, you would have been prepared for the consequence.

Good to...know?

[She's not quite sure why you'd take it off for that long; what if you get in trouble?]

And I'd be willing to give you lessons, if you don't have too many offers already, miss...?

I am yours for the finding, wherever you wish it.

[ And now, because you know it's bad when even Thor side-eyes. ]

You cannot dare experiments that might hurt, even if they do not. This is no game, Jane Foster.

[There's a small wave, though she can't completely keep the small frown from her face at the mentions of being grey.]

Hey. Good to see you're back? But sure, I'm around and willing to help out, unless you found others or something. Can't remember if I mentioned Arthur and his group. They can help with training. The teachers council is for help with your powers and figuring them out, apparently.

I've heard it's a pretty unpleasant feeling even so. What do you think?
