So. Those Gentlemen sure made things. Interesting? Can't say I'm not glad to be able to talk again. Even if half the time me opening my mouth ends up pissing someone off back home.

But really, I was wondering...this place has a library in...Odin, wasn't it? Or I could--frak it. I don't suppose 'Harbinger' means anything to any of you? Or, I don't know, Angels or. Whatever.

[Because she is still frustrating herself worrying about things back home and that apple both did and did not help things at all. Wondering if her death and coming back means she is a Cylon. They still don't know the Final Five, after all. Or perhaps that wasn't quite it. Hence her considering the angel thing. Kara purses her lips before shaking her head and muttering.]

Gods, I don't even know why I'm--this is stupid.

[And there she ends the feed.]

The library is in Odin, yes.

I assume you're not looking for a dictionary definition of 'harbinger'.

Harbingers. What do you know about them?

Harbinger. One that indicates or foreshadows what is to come.

In religious scriptures, there are some angels that take that role.

Like what, bible kind of angels? Doesn't seem like it'd really fit with the whole Norse thing here.

You suspect there is a Harbinger present?

Well, of course, you'd have to be more specific, but it's usually… people trying to make sense of what is ultimately chaos and blaming a single figure for being the catalyst of a catastrophe. When I've come across what's described as such, there's usually a great deal missing from the popular view. Death never relies on a single figure.

It is. And while I suppose I can't say with authority what will happen to you where you are, humanity where I am… lasts. Cataclysm after cataclysm it lasts. Cockroaches have thrown their hands up in surrender before humanity does kind of lasts.

I find it hard to believe that you alone are capable of it.

In my experience they're a little more interested in stabbing than heralding anything.

They're messenger-types, yeah? In whichever reality you happen to be in. In mine, they came to kill the girls we call 'slayers.'

[ he's getting really good at this narration stuff. ] Not going to fault you for getting stabby, though. So long as you had a good reason.

They sure did, it was really annoying to be mute! Also... What those guys did... It was terrible... I'm glad to see you're alright...

[Well, quite an interesting subject, Kara. He may be repelled by Bibles as a vampire, but being born in the early 1900s, he learned something. But whatever he says might not be accurate, so maybe double check?]

Aren't they supposed to be messengers of God or something? About the Apocalypse.

I believe a Harbinger is one that indicates or foreshadows what is to come. Why are you asking?

Not exactly. The title "Death" doesn't have to mean something bad. I understand it's connected to pain and suffering, and Death may indeed imply the death of someone, but it's also about the "end" of anything: The end of an era, the end of a trip. The end of a phase in life which has served its purpose, an abrupt and complete change of circumstances, way of life and patterns of behavior. An "harbinger of death" doesn't have to mean it'll cause the death of everyone.

And there are indeed many religions each with their own version of the angels of death, and most aren't bad. In Hinduism, Yama is lord of death who became the ruler of the departed. In Christianity, the archangel Michael is good angel of death while Samael the evil angel of death. In Islam, Azrael is the Archangel of Death in some traditions, returning the soul of every person to God. In Hebrew Bible, the Passover "Angel of Death", delivers the tenth plagues in the Book of Exodus; in later Judaism, the archangel Michael carries Adam to his grave, Gabriel is angel of death over kings and Samael is an important archangel seen as both good and bad. There is also Tabris, who is to release the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse and bring forth the end of the world, however Tabris is neutral - neither good or bad.

[ does Kaworu know a lot about angels and religion? Yes, he does. ]</small
