[So much terror and awfulness on the network lately and while Daphne has been rather quiet for the past week and very much secluded in her home, she needs to do something. So when the chaos quiets down and everyone has a bit of time to breathe, she appears on the network dressed in a loose sweater that hangs off her shoulders and jeans, her hair up in a loose messy bun. She looks like she just got out of the shower -- and despite the upheaval of the monsters in the city, she looks pretty content and happy.

-- but still. Down to business.]

The offer of healing goes without saying, and I've tracked down a few people, but -- I'm going to be at the hospital today, if anyone needs healing. Or just someone to talk to. I'm told I'm a pretty good listener.

[She lets out a slight breath before smiling peacefully.]

Let's hope the city quiets down for a few weeks, right?

[For this part of the message, Daphne has to lean back out of her chair to frown over her shoulder, making sure her husband isn't in their room or anywhere in the immediate vicinity.]

Castiel told me once that his unofficial birthday is sometime in late autumn and time is... bizarre here, but I think around now sounds right. I wanted to do something for him, but I have no idea what.

When everyone is calm and able, can someone help me... organize something? Or -- at least help me figure out what to get him, he's impossible.

[ But then he thinks of when he and Morgana made cookies and his cheeks heat, so he makes a disgruntled face. ]

Or perhaps a new sword, he seems a fair hand at those.

[Luckily, Daphne doesn't notice the blushing, too lost in thought.]

He does like it when we bake together, but he gets frustrated because I don't measure anything.

And I try to keep weapons out of our house as much as possible.

[ That earns an entirely different face altogether, somewhere between bewilderment and immediate concern. ]

Even with the war waging about us as it has done?

We have weapons, and he has his sword with him at all times, I just...

[She fiddles with the bottom of her shirt.]

-- I don't like the violence being brought home, that's all.

[ He considers this a moment. It's a fair point. ]

What if you were to get a - locker, of some sort? So as to have them readily at hand but not laying about the house.

[ A beat. ]

Er. Not for his birthday, rather, in general.

That's not a very romantic gift, no.

[with a tiny laugh, her frown vanishing in an instant.]

But maybe next year.

Huh... his birthday's coming up? I guess mine was around this time of year too. It's so hard to tell in this place.

[She frowned.]

Not sure what you should get him. I mean, what does he like?

He loves to read.

Ummm, well, thanks. I haven't really worried about mine for a while honestly. What's weird is that I showed up here on my birthday in my world, so I'm never quite sure when to celebrate it.

Are you thinking of buying him a book maybe?

I want it to be special.

[With a quiet frown, crossing her arms over her chest.]

He's been so perfect and supportive through everything that he deserves something fantastic.

... need more than just a book for that then. Either a really rare book, or maybe a bookshelf or something like that. Do you guys have a library at your place?

He has a study, but a library... we don't have one of those.

[SHE WILL EMPTY HER SAVINGS ACCOUNT FOR THIS.]

Just remember. If it's too much, you can always start it, and finish it later...
