[Petra's been everywhere in the past few days, honestly--from the festival to the edge of town, at least superficially. But now she's in the Common room of the Sigyn house, sitting quietly in a chair. She's fuddling with the bracelet, not quite sure how to work the touch screen yet, when the camera comes on. She looks quite shocked.]

I was just looking for a map...[She sighs, and then brightens up, offering a happy grin, innocently.]

Anyways, I should introduce myself! I'm Petra Ral, of the Special--I mean, Scouting Legion. [She doesn't quite know if the people here are privy to the information that she's on the Squad, and she's not going to risk it. She adjusts, taking the bracelet off.]

That guide....it said we give people color, right? With our feelings.

[She sounds skeptical at best.]

Have we saved many, then? I see some color around here. Also, are we truly safe from the giants here? Gates are not a barrier for something that's big enough...

[She spaces out for a second, thinking of the Titans at home.]

Is there 3 dimensional maneuver gear here? I feel that would help a great deal, st least for me and anyone from my world. I unfortunately couldn't tell you how to make one...

[Her voice trails off awkwardly, with a hint of laughter.]

I'm rambling, aren't I? I guess I should just end with a nice question everyone can answer: What's your favorite color?

Blue! What's three-dimension-thingy?

[Hardly a pause whatsoever, as if the two thoughts were connected.]

[The woman barely bats an eye, launching into her explanation almost mechanically.]

It's the weapons we had at home. The allowed us to use the buildings around us to get us into the air, which then would allow us to kill the Titans. I could draw a basic picture, but I don't think I can with this thing.

[He looks totally stoked.]

What? That sounds awesome! The... Flying around thing, I mean. Titans not so much.

So you didn't get to bring it with you?

[She can't see why it's so exciting--it's not like it's candy or any of the other million things that they have here in abundance.]

Well, it takes years to master. And yes. The Titans are horrible beings.

Over the course of roughly three hundred and forty days, Travellers have restored a significant amount of colour to the city. I have not heard of the gear your speak of, there are no guarantees that we are safe from the giants, they have breached the gates before. [Rather recently, at that.]

... Why the interest in favourite colour?

Oh, I'm not sure how many we've saved, but there have been plenty!

The giants don't attack us that much. Maybe every couple months or so, I guess...

But I like too many colors to just pick one! What's yours?

When are we ever truly safe from giant assholes?

[You should know this voice well, Petra. He's not meaning to sound like a jerk, that just comes naturally for him, but you know that already.]

My gear works just fine. Only thing is, I haven't found out where I can replenish the gas. So if you have yours? Use it sparingly.

[No hello's or how are you holding up's, forgive him for that... This is just a really hard situation for him to find himself in.]

Uh, it's purple. Heh. And yeah, there's a map on there somewhere.

But... I've heard things've been going well. I guess. I'm new here too, though, so I ain't ever seen what the giants are like...

[She hates assuming gender, but what can she do? She wants to know the name of the person she's talking to.]

It's the weapons we used at home to defend ourselves against similar enemies. It's a harness system, basically, if you know what that is.

[Her tone diminishes, sounding less bright than before, and more weary.]

I don't have my gear here. It seems to have gone missing somehow. We were about to enter the forest, it was on me....

That's still too often, by my standards...but I guess it could be worse.

[She should know.]

I really like dark green. It's the color of my cloak.

Yeah. Me too... but I ain't gonna hold out too much hope.

[Kanji sighs, scratching his head.]

Sounds like it gets ugly.

[It still pains him to see you, Petra... He might seem colder than normal, so you'll just have to forgive him for that. Give him a little while to get used to this, to get the last images of you he'd seen out of his head.]

I wouldn't think anything of it. You're nothing special, I've heard it happens to others here. Guess I was lucky.

[She figures it's one of his moods, but even still, she sounds awkward, as if she's being scolded.]

If it does, we'll fight. My captain is here, and he's known as humanity's strongest. I know he'll help.

Hell yeah we are! And - really? Man... that's gotta be worth something, even with all this ...different power business.

Perhaps you might have asked because you were interested in going to each individual's quarters and painting them in that colour. Similar feats have been undertaken before.

It's nice to meet you, Ral-san! My name is Hibiki! We've gotten lots of color back since people first started coming here. It's still not everybody, but we'll manage it eventually!

And... The gates don't always keep the giants out. But they don't usually come this far unless they're attacking us all at once... [As if that makes it much better.]

Um... I don't know what three dim-- dimensional ma-- [Er,] I'm not sure what that is. But my favorite color is green! [Like the forest she lived in, like the cloaks she and her Master used to wear...]

[Oh, this girl is tiny! Petra's smile widens and softens, becoming less serious.]

Green is my favorite color, too. Nice to meet you, Hibiki....which house are you a part of?

He didn't have any powers, that's the thing. He is just....strong.

Rutherford. Nice to meet you.

[She does a salute.]

I'm not that ambitious. I guess I just wanted to get to know the people around here more...

It could. I mean, it could always be worse, right?

Ooh, that's a good choice! It can be really pretty with lighter colors! Like pink or yellow!
