[ hello network! the next face to greet you is that of a scrawny kid who looks like he hasn't slept or eaten in several weeks, frowning at the holographic screen coming from the bracelet as thought it was the source of all his problems. which was unfair, really- so far the bracelet was only the source of one problem: broadcasting live to a large group of unknown people.
nico looks as though he could think of ten million less uncomfortable things he could be doing. ]
Okay. Well. It doesn't make sense.
[ he realizes shortly after that he's gonna have to be a little more specific. he waves his hand impatiently. ] I mean, it makes sense. I read some stuff and I don't see why it couldn't make sense: this place, these gods, the weird... residents. [ that word is used lightly. ] All of that makes sense. Fine. What doesn't make sense is all of you.
[ and here he points a finger accusingly. ] You mean to tell me not one of you other people brought here knew about this? This place or any of this before you were here? Not even a little? [ it just seems so strange to him because sure there were things that went on in his world all the time that mortals didn't know about. but even then there were cracks and some people still knew. ]
I can't believe not one of you were in on something. These gods just did everything themselves?

Mortals aren't exactly supposed to see godly deeds.
[Let's keep it simple.]
Percy- but- [ speechless isn't something nico spent a lot of time being, and this wasn't going to be the start. he takes a deep breath. ]
You're here? How?
That question's getting really old-- [It is, but he manages to inject a light joking nature to it before a shrug.] I fell asleep. I woke up here to a faceless lady with a coloring book.
[Pyro looks exhausted. Like he's been put through about five emotional wringers. But he can still work up some snark for the newbies.]
Sounds like you have some real experience, though, or at least you're a hell of a believer. Not many of you guys buy into the gods thing that quick, never mind the rest of it.

If anyone does, they're not telling.
[ he's silent for a moment, unsure exactly what to say. "yes, my father is a god, i know all about them using humans" seemed a little too much. ] Experience. Guess you could say that. I think most people have experiences being used by those more powerful than them. What about you? You sound bitter.
no subject
You'd think they'd be running around saying "finally, someone who will believe me." But I guess not.
[ he eyes her thoughtfully. ] It's weird seeing you here, though. You'd think out of anyone, Artemis would have at least kept her Hunters out of trouble.
[ welp he sounds annoyed, but he's clearly doing his best to ignore the relief. if percy was here, he wasn't in tartarus! ...right? ]
[Being used by someone more powerful... his mouth twists at that, but it turns into a sharp laugh at the mention of him being bitter.]
Me? Lots of experience with being used by people less powerful, but who have better numbers. My whole race.

Artemis has bigger problems than one demigod.
Then what does it matter? If you're safe here, we shouldn't have to worry about it.
[ well this was intriguing. ] Your whole "race?" Are you an alien? [ flatly. ] More importantly, are you saying you'd be stronger than there gods?

It's just that I've seen the way she treats her Hunters. I saw her insist my father give everyone who died in Manhattan Elysium. [ he looks thoughtful. ] It's just that if she can't get you out of here, we must really be stuck.

[ SHRUG. ]
What kind of gods have you heard of?

It's almost hard to believe the ones we know aren't present here at all. You think we're in Alaska? [ that was mostly a joke. ] Norse, though... [ that catches his attention. ] If there are Greek gods still around, why not Norse-ish? [ although he looks a little dejected at the thought. ]

[She had enough with Greek and Roman, anyway.]
But no Roman or Greek, as far as I know.
Re: [video]
[Because he has to believe in Nico. In all of them.]
Yes and no. It's kind of momentary. We can't stay here forever.
[Though Ryoji hasn't really thought of what's happened as a kidnapping. He's honestly grateful to be alive and having fun in a place like this, even if there are some frightening things about powers and their purpose here.]
A fact that does little to surprise me, as aggravating as it is. To think that such powerful beings would pay so little mind to the wills of others.
[voice]
[There's the sound of fingers tapping against a hardwood table.]
There are more, but those three are the ones I heard of most, back in Oz.
[ he sounds almost surprised; he did spend a lot of time back home as a kid playing card games based on myths and gods and things but those were all new. ]
My world has all kinds of gods and myths that I've heard of, but not like that. [ he's tempted to ask how much attack power they have. ] It's... interesting. Our worlds must be really far apart on this tree. [ a LITTLE bit of scorn when talking about the tree. ]
They always need us for something. Just once I'd like a nice request. [ FROWN. ] Have you been here long? Do they make you do a lot?
no subject
[ he shakes his head. ]
I guess they did "pick" us, so they might. [ just a little bitter. ]

[voice]
[And among Ozians, her coloring is pretty uncommon as well. Unique, in fact.]
Tell me about the myths you've heard of, then.
[He tilts his chin upward proudly.] Not an alien, a mutant. Evolution's improvement on the human. And I was saying we're stronger than them, but get enough of us together without the power cap and we could probably take this place down.
[ A beat. ]
I have not been here long, but a lot has transpired in that time. Thiazi--the one these gods are fighting--worked magic in town that led to many deaths, and left many of us busier than we would have liked. I cannot say for certain that so much activity would be considered normal in this place, but given this is supposedly a war-torn land, I would expect the worst.
