Tour de Grimorie ♛ Action/Video
Hello everyone, I’m Aladdin, one of the two guild leaders of Grimoire’s Sigil--Asgard’s guild of magic. Ash Trine is the other guild leader. It’s been a very long time since I started this so I thought it be good to finally give everyone a tour of the guild and tell you what it’s all about.
[He expands the view of the video to show the entire guild hall’s front exterior. As he gets closer, it appears that the columns have runes spiraling around them.]
This is the guild hall; it’s in Freyr district just a little bit away from the Draupnir. It’s pretty hard to miss the runes that we have active outside. These runes have only one function--measuring the amount and health of the latent magic in the area. This is just one of the many arrays that you can learn here at the guild, but I’ll go into that more later!
Let’s get this tour started!
This is the greeting area; it’s pretty simple, nice and cozy. Down that hall are the two meeting rooms: the red and blue rooms. We alternate between the two and they are pretty distinct in a lot of ways, other than the color that is.
[He opens the door and takes the time to show both rooms off before heading over to the spiral staircase.]
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! There are four floors in the guild hall. The lowest floor is the basement, there’s a small kitchen down there and it’s used to store certain kinds of components; magical or otherwise. This is the first floor, where we have the greeting and meeting rooms.
There are all sorts of things we talk about in the guild. All the topics we cover have something to do with magic in some way or form. Whether the topic is on the various magical creatures that can be found in this world or dangerous cursed objects that one can find in other worlds. While it’s really fun to have these discussions it’s also very important. The enemies of the city are able to make copies of things from our worlds and it’s always good to be prepared. You can never know what to expect in this place.
[Aladdin looks pretty serious for a moment before shaking his head. There will be time to dwell on this later, he has a tour to finish. He heads upstairs. The staircase opens up to an area filled with tables cover in diagrams and charts. Aladdin ignores that to go into the room to his left. This room is filled with bottles, vials and jars. There is a cauldron nearby, its contents bubbling away.]
Welcome to the second floor. While discussions go on downstairs, here is where we actually use magic. This floor contains the alchemy laboratory, the runic workshop, and area to practice our god-given powers. For those that don’t know, other than the power the gods gave us, there are two other forms of magic available.
This is the alchemy lab. Alchemy in its simplest form is the art of combining various components to create potions, elixirs and concocted items. The alchemy lab is where you can brew these various items. The only catch is that you have to be a guild member to use them. This art can be pretty dangerous and the components can be expensive, so keeping track of people using them is vital.
[He walks over the cauldron. Inside is a liquid that resembles the color of a black pearl]
In this cauldron is one of the most important potions you can make in city, runic ink. With it you can perform the other form of magic, Runic magic. The room we started in is where we practice and apply this art.
[He heads back over to the other room where the odd diagrams and picture were.]
This is the runic workshop. Runic magic is the art of enchanting objects or places or even people using symbols called runes. This is something we teach and craft here at the guild; you don’t even have to be a member for this! An array is just the word for a rune spell. The types of spells you can craft are pretty different. There are three major arrays that are spread across the city; teleportation, magical energy store and purification. But you can do simple things with them too like power up weapons or make food.
[Speaking of which, there was something important he was supposed to remember. What was it again…oh yeah!]
Oh, if you do successfully craft an array, apparently you get the official title of Runemaster or mistress. So if one of the local people call you that, don’t worry about it. While the guild is a great place to learn to craft, there are other ways to do so, like learning from other Runemasters in the city or studying on your own.
The last room is the power practice area. Just as the name says it’s an indoor area to practice our powers. It’s really just an empty room, but thanks to the blessing I get for the guild, it’s sturdy.
[Just as he heads back to the stairs to get to the last floor, he trips on something]
Omph what the...[he looks around to see what he fell over, but just laughs when he see exactly what it is.] This is a good time as any. Okay everyone, the guild has some interesting guests that live here. This is one of them. [He changes the view and lo and behold, there is a medium sized chest with legs scuttling about.] This is Qadam, he’s walking chest. The reason he’s alive is because of an array I crafted. There are two others in the guild, Kabeer and Sagheer. I’m not sure where they are right now, but we may or may not see them.
[He pats the Qadam on the lid and walks back to the stairs, the odd chest following him up. The floor he gets to is a bit different from the others. It opens out to a little lounge with inviting chairs and small tables]
Here is the last floor. This place is off limits to people that aren’t members. This room here is the lounge. It’s a good place to relax, get in some reading or just take notes on magic. The other two storage rooms are up here as well.
[He walks into room to the front. Inside is a small library. The room has books wall to wall and there is even a fancy looking lion statue laying near the entrance.]
And this is the guild’s library. Almost all the books are about magic in some way or form. Not just from this world either. This library also has books from other worlds as well. The subjects are pretty varied, from necromancy to elemental magic to runic arts to barrier spells.
With that, the tour is complete. If you want a closer look at everything just come on by and if you want to join just fill out one of the forms in the greeting area. That should be about i-ACK
[The boy suddenly cries out as something decides to grab him by the vest. Remember that lion statue from earlier? Well, it wasn’t a statue.]
Ooow. Okay before I go I guess I have to introduce you to one of the guild guardians. This Sinbad. He’s a pretty nice ahhh- lion, though he tends to stare and climb on people. He’s pretty smart and helps protect the guild. He eats chicken nuggets, so don’t worry, he won’t try to eat you unless you are trying to break in or something.
[Sinbad growls softly before putting Aladdin down, the cat cuddles into him for a moment before heading out the room.]
Before I forget, there’s another guardian, Suf. She’s a yak and she mostly stays outside. She gives us loads of yak milk. It’s pretty great!
All right, that’s it folks. I’ll be here if you have questions and Ash might pop in to help too. Or you can contact us with the bracelets. That’s all for now! Bye bye.
((ooc: here is the form to join. the com is sort of under construction, but Rui or myself can answer any questions you might have. ))

[She looks a bit pink mentioning it.]
How do they know if you've created one or not? Is it a...native thing?

...Oh! Unless it was when we put them up all over the city...?
Video;
A certain feel...?
[Wait.]
Then... does using magic here make us different somehow?
Smell... like it?
[She's smelled some pretty stinky spells before, but... she never thought of magic having a scent.]
or that's what I'm guessing.
[She still doesn't exactly get it, but...]
I wonder how they know what it's like. Wasn't runic magic lost for a while?
[It's not so odd to him, when put that way. He's simply felt the presence of magic back in Camelot, as well, so why couldn't it be something similar in Asgard?]
[Magical sensitivity is pretty common back in his world as well. Though it was mostly with the magicians.]
Uwaaaah... I wonder if I'll ever get used to it?
[He just let it slide for the most part, even if he thought it was weird to get call that by people twice or thrice his age.]
[Wait, but that implies...]
Um.
A-Aladdin-san?
I-I'm sorry! I'm not being rude calling you Aladdin-san, am I? Should I call you Lord, too?
[He really doesn't give two camels about the official title thing.]
Video;
Video;
[He gives Qadam a fond look as he says the last part.]
[...Now it just feels weird.]
W-we're still friends, right. [He tearing up.] You w-wont stop being my friend over something this [sniff] silly.
N-no, of course not! Even if you're a Lord, Aladdin-san is still Aladdin-san!
[Fell for it hook, line, and sinker.]
video
Could I come by and try to use the runic workshop? I don't have any experience with it, but it sounds similar to the magic that I can use back home. At least, to a degree. [Powering up weapons... !]
Ah, but I should probably find something to strengthen first...
Good! You're my friend too, Hibiki.
Umm... Thank you, Aladdin-san.
