[Aurora sounds disdainful, and looks like she either came from a sweet sixteen party or a costume party. It's neither, Asgard has just gained of those medieval-slash-fairytale types.]

I never imagined I'd be in the hands of captors worse than the ones I've known, but it seems I was wrong. I no longer welcome the chance to leave my world, and I know there must be some way back to it. I'm aware that such things come with a price. I don't want to just wait to be rescued again.

[She looks briefly sad, maybe even afraid. But Aurora takes a breath and tips her chin up.]

If the price is truly to fight in some war, then I'm afraid you've chosen your soldier poorly.

They chose a lot of us poorly, far as the actual 'fighting stuff' bit goes, but at least it's not all smacking around giants. Far as I know though? Only way to get out right now is getting lucky with-- falling back out, or however that happens.

I'm not really sure there's a way back to our worlds. At least not one that we can choose to use at any time.

What makes you think you can't fight?

I wish we actually were in a boat. Then perhaps we could sail it somewhere else.

But what is this "falling back out" that you mentioned?

Surely magic could do it, if one's willing to pay the price.

I've been in no battles. Mulan was the warrior, though I wouldn't wish her to be trapped either.

And once the war is won, do you really believe they'll let us go? I have my doubts about that.

People just sort of disappear, sometimes-- presumably off back to wherever they're from. I don't think it's intentional, or I'd figure they'd be getting rid of people they didn't think were working out.

I'm not sure anybody has any access to magic here even with the powers they've given to everyone.

There's other ways of fighting though outside of battle though.

They're gods. It's tricky even guessing what will happen, we might not even remember we did this if we are returned to our worlds.

I haven't made too many yet, so that's a tricky question. Technically, I wouldn't even know I had something to mourn.

A war requires more than soldiers to be won. An army that lacks organization and strategy is doomed to fail. Without healers to tend wounds, numbers would dwindle far too quickly. Forces without nutrition and equipment cannot survive.
