Tell me about these so called ‘Gods’ and how they manage to abduct people so easily.

[He’s figured out how the bracelet network works now, so knows he can just ask all of his questions in one go, and people will answer.]

And what’s the point in bringing people in then sealing their abilities? That’s not how you win a war.

Oi, Sasuke.

[A thud and then-- a hand. Oops. Guess the feed has changed to a video. There’s Naruto, hanging behind Sasuke with an arm over his shoulder, and his chin propped on the other one.]

There. Hey. Yeah, so -- if you know stuff?

…Naruto.

[The dark haired guy is scowling now before raising an arm-- and promptly elbowing the blond in the gut.]

Te-Ow! What the heck!? [Now you see him, now you don’t.]

Tch.

[Ignoring the other, Sasuke reaches out and cuts the feed. So much for remaining anonymous.]

People already mentioned that people go back and don't retain memories. Obviously there is a way out.

[Now there's something he's never considered.]

Everyone assumes it's the gods doing it, but if they lose their memories, how would they know if they'd found the way out? Some people do remember being here when they get back, but those could be the ones the gods changed their minds on. The ones who don't -

[His mind is racing. This guy's definitely got to meet Magneto - he's thinking way outside the box of what everyone assumes about Asgard, and they need to catch it before those assumptions get ingrained.]

I don't know what is going on, but the fact that others leaving seems to be common knowledge means there is a way to return somehow.

What have people been doing here all these months?

[Maybe it helps to be as skeptical and cynical as he is, but doors open both ways right?]

These things don't work out of town, apparently. Got cut off.

But I wondered the same thing when I came here. Pretty much word for word. And the answer is getting fucked around with by the gods and having stupid fights over who's got the best plan and who can be trusted. That's what we're trying to cut through.

A lot of people left, something about retrieving a god. [Something he isn't interested in taking part in.]

I spoke to one of them, Hel. They're useless.

That's a hell of a story, actually, if you're in the mood to be really pissed off about being here.

For now, though, you're right and wrong. They're totally useless when it comes to leading a war, but really good at picking the worst way to mess with your head if you question them about anything. I'm not saying don't speak up, we need more people questioning shit around here, but just get ready for it.

[His eyes narrow a little, though he is curious.]

About why they've left for a neighbouring land?

You'll hate the gods and almost everyone else here by the end of it.

They're going to get the soul of one of the gods here, Freyr. He blew himself up on the battlefield, apparently because that was the only way to stalemate the fight going on and stalemate was the best they could do. You know, big heroic sacrifice.

So his twin sister, Freya, went nuts that apparently no one was trying to help bring him back and cursed us all to live out one another's worst nightmares. The other gods were actually sensible and realized she couldn't keep going like this, but then they shit all over it by polling the travellers here about whether she should just be killed or everyone should go on a stupid, deadly mission to get Freyr's soul back so that she'd calm down.

You know which one they picked.

[He sits silently, listening to the story, frowning throughout the whole thing.]

So that's where they've gone, to rescue the God that got himself killed, because another one threw a tantrum over it?

[Though that's what the travellers decided over just getting rid of the other god too, huh? That's the part that annoys him the most about the whole ordeal.]

[Pyro's laugh is bitter, but there's also some genuine amusement there.]

That's the kind of people we're dealing with, not to mention the kind of gods.

The other one with me, Naruto, he already thinks we should help them and is already trying to do that.

Not that I expected any different from him.

[It was going to make things a little more difficult, the two of them butting heads over everything.]

[That gets a laugh out of Pyro, but it's not unkind. It's actually kind of commiserating.]

Yeah, I've got a friend with a hero complex too, don't worry. I still get shit done. Just gotta make sure it doesn't have your mark on it.

I guess that's one way to go about it.

[Maybe he can convince Naruto to work with him, but he doubts that.]

Sometimes it's the only way. Hero types don't see the grey in anything, you must know that.

[He won't push any harder, though. The Brotherhood's not desperate.]
