[Tonight the SOS feed goes off. And if any one decides to click the emergency feed button, they'll be treated to a strange sight

The video feed doesn't show anything when turned on other than a pair of thin legs and right below it a message. The legs are dressed in green pants and grey shoes, but nothing else about it can be discerned from the feed. It might appear at first that the message is written in paint...

but those who know better will recognize it as blood. Though not red blood, but a brightly colored green blood. The message:]

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
[After several seconds of lingering over the scene the feed suddenly hurdles toward the ground and is stopped by the impact a second later. It seems the bracelet was dropped mid-recording and the SOS alert cuts off with the loss of contact.]

[ooc: As Calliope is obviously dead there isn't any way to talk to her, but feel free to use this post to send messages to the mysterious killer (aka Caliborn, who is not mysterious at all). The SOS feed will report the location of the bracelet to be in Hel district, outside of the carnival. If anyone goes there, they will be able to find Calliope's corpse outside the carnival gates. It's been shot at multiple times in the chest and her blood is smeared all across the body. EDIT: Dirk and Davesprite will find her first, but others are welcome to watch or react.]

God damn it.

[There's not much else to say. He's already heading that way. He has a friend's bracelet to retrieve and see to her remains.]

[The evening was going smoothly as Soushi was at the library doing additional research or reading books that he remember Ririchiyo recommending him before he arrived to Asgard. He believed the rest of the evening would continue to remain peaceful until his bracelet will begin to create a terrible high-pitch sound. It was a pain, at first, because his ears were a little more delicate compare to a human's, but it had caught his attention.]

...what is going on?

[It won't be long until his bracelet will reveal a video transmission. The quick appearance of it will catch his attention especially the details surrounding it. There was a bloody body of a woman on the screen.]

.....who?

[He will begin to check the ID of the bracelet, but all he will receive is the location of the owner. She could be found in Hel. Soushi was uncertain on the best course of action to take. It was obvious the sudden video feed had caught his attention, but he was uncertain over him being part of a video conference. His reaction was definitely inquisitive, but....slightly disturb in the way that someone was broadcasting a dead body. Was this pity?]

.......I wonder who could have done this to her. [Then he wonders.] But most importantly, why am I able to see this? I do not understand.

[She is -- horrified isn't even a word to describe it. She comes from a place that only very recently became dangerous and murderous and real. And Daphne remembers the conversation she had with what she knows to be a rather sweet young lady, warning them about her identical brother, and it seems Calliope heeded Daphne's warning to be careful a little too late.

Still, all she can do is stare, because her brain is clicking away at an impossibly fast pace, she can probably heal that but the risk is far too great for anyone to let her try. And it's too dangerous.

She should probably turn off the feed, but she can't yet.

It seems disrespectful to stop looking, even though the feed on Calliope's end is over.]

[Suddenly all of their conversations have become more ironically relevant than ever. Is it wrong, that he isn't too sure that he's worried? She'll be back. He knows she'll be back, because he's been back, and he told her so. Because she asked. She'll be back.]

[Davesprite wasn't lying when he said he was close by. Hel is his district, after all, and he's learned his way around pretty well. But he stops short when he sees the body.

It's a few minutes before he's sure the killer isn't around. He approaches slowly, careful to avoid the pool of blood at his feet, and it looks garish and fake. The sight turns his stomach—vaguely, he's reminded of John and Bro—before he leans over to pick the bracelet off the ground. It's all he touches, but it still doesn't feel right, like he shouldn't touch anything at all. But he hooks two fingers through it and turns to wait.

When Dirk arrives, Davesprite will be standing near the corpse with his arms crossed, alert like a sentinel at a tomb.]

Yeah.
It's go time.

[Dirk arrives silently, moving into the light with a business like stride. He falters at the sight of Callilope's body and stares. For a few moments he doesn't say anything as all. Then he takes a step and walks forward, coming to her side and kneels down.]

I'm sorry.

[She had been coming to their agreed meeting. He rubs at his eyes beneath his shades and sucks in a breath because the scent of death is making him feel sick.] --Did you get her bracelet?

could they please stop killing each other. just. please. obviously other people here weren't dealing with well and Natasha wasn't really in the mood to deal with mass panic at the moment. not that she was panicking. all in all, it was kind of .. interesting to her. a change from the monotony. but that was not the point. she didn't need frightened sheep running around while she was trying to find a way home ~~and frightened sheep were hard to spy on~~.

so she's just going to sidle down to Hel district and take a look, making sure she's not seen (unless Dirk and/or Davesprite are particularly on their game).

it's not like death here is permanent, anyway. )

[Davesprite automatically holds it out to him, still looped from his fingers. Then he backs off a few steps to give his brother some space.]

It was her asshole brother, I'm guessing.

[He didn't miss the threats, but he poses it there for confirmation.]

I was. He killed her last time. [And used her blood color for his text, Dirk takes a second to let that sink into his mind. Damn it.]

She was supposed to meet with me in the library. I was about to call her to see what the hold up was. [His voice is level as he studies the bullet wounds.]

They said no one can stay dead here.

[He watches Dirk closely, pretty sure he knows the thought process that goes with "She was supposed to meet with me in the library."]

Yeah. People disappear and reappear back at the palace. Or at least that's what I heard. Revival at no apparent cost.

[ .. Green blood. Even though it's green, it's obvious it's blood coming from the body, and her heart sinks all the way towards her stomach. Her stomach twists too, and for a moment she feels the urge to throw up, but she manages to keep it in. But still.. even though she can only see half of the scene, it's already too much. Another corpse..

Not to mention that message. Written in that green blood, it almost makes her think of something, but she doesn't have enough energy in her to think right now.

Part of her wants to yell. Or do something. But now, more than ever.. she realises she can't.

It's the worst feeling. ]

itsuki recognizes the body after a split second of horrified staring--and the green blood further rams it home, because she's seen that shade of green elsewhere, and she was wondering where, and she remembers where it's from. calliope. oh, calliope--

so the person she'd been warning everyone else about got to her. and that person had--

she didn't know calliope well. perhaps this is what makes it so upsetting. she hasn't been told that people come back to life here; this is a life she only just got to know, hoped to be friends with, and in the end...

that mocking laughter written in her blood says enough. she has to turn off the bracelet. she needs a moment to retch, anyway. ]

[Equius grunted and sighed, shaking his head. There were reasons he preferred to speak to Karkat at times like this. Sollux was too caught up in his ever-present bile, and with her dead he seemed to be beside himself.

Ergo, he wouldn't be helpful. ...Whatever. He had every intention of helping to protect her from this happening again, but likely not with Sollux.]
