Not once ye get used to it, but there's a lot you've got to be able to do in order to get everything to go smoothly. And it helps if the pipes have been sized to fit ye, because if it's too large it makes it more difficult to play.

Most people start off with just practicing on the chanter anyway. It's easier to manage, and quieter, too.
