I think I'm finally homesick. [ Jade doesn't seem particularly torn up or melancholy about this - thoughtful, more than anything. ] What do you guys usually do about it?

Oh yes! It's my favorite thing to drink! Nothing is quite as lovely as tea with friends! Tea fits every situation you could possibly have!

It always just sort of tasted like hot water to me. [ She's grinning sheepishly. ] I don't think I'm very good at making it, though.

[madcuriosity]

Then you've simply not had the right tea, hot or cold. [She looks at Jade and then looks at the kitchen.] Are you feeling better, Miss Jade? [She asked somewhat suddenly.]

Huh?

[ She straightens up, as if embarrassed by the question. ]

Of course, I'm fine! How are you Alice?

Proper tea does not tastes like hot water, proper tea tastes changes water's taste entirely.

[She tilts her head.]

But... you said you were feeling homesick. That's not exactically a "I'm fine" sort of feeling. That's why I came over, after all. And I'm really alright... except I feel a little homesick as well.

[ She smiles at that, dragging a chair over. ]

Well, then, I look forward to discovering the difference in taste! And.. yes, hehe, you are right. Would you tell me about your home, Alice?

[The whistling kettle was the signal that everything was ready and Alice went about making everything as best she could before looking over to Jade.]

Oh! Ah... well, England is a lovely place, though I've not traveled to many of the cities in it. But Oxford, that's the city in England that I live in, has the University of Oxford and is one of the oldest universities in all of England! My father is the headmaster!

[ Yep. Jade is instantly enthralled. ]

The headmaster? So he's in charge of it all?

The whole school! He started in a different position but now he takes care of the whole university!

That's really great, Alice! Is that where you go to school?

[madcuriosity]

What! Goodness, no! Oxford university is... well, a university! That's where you go for the best sort of schooling once you're all done with normal schools. I don't think I could go to it, even if father is the headmaster! I don't think I've ever seen a girl....

Girls can go to all of the best schools too, Alice. You will just have to be the first!

Well whether or not I'm the first isn't going to matter for some time. I would have to be older to attend.

Right.. hehehe. I guess I didn't think about that. You're still pretty young, huh?

Seven and a half! Or well... I might be eight now! Time is such a funny thing here!

Really? That's a really great age, Alice! I'm jealous. I'd like to be eight again.

[madcuriosity]

You would want to be my age again? But... why! Being so little you can't do much!

Why do you say that? It never stopped me.

Well you're you and I'm me, we can't very well do the same things in the same way. I know how to make tea and you don't. But if you must ask why I would say such a thing, there's so many things I don't know, and when I ask about them, I constantly get told "I shall understand when I am older." Well, if I am older, I certainly don't understand more. School things, perhaps, but somethings no.

I don't think school's that important. If you're a clever girl, and I think you are, Alice, you're the best teacher you'll ever have.

[madcuriosity]

You're only saying that because you've not met Miss Hermione, Miss Jade. She is the best teacher. [Alice simply hadn't understood what Jade was trying to say.]

And school is important, but like I said, the things people keep saying I'll learn when I'm older, I've not yet learned.

I've met Hermione!

[ She's smiling about it. Oh, well- something they can agree on, at least. ]

She's excellent, isn't she?

She's incredible! [Alice smiled as she closed her eyes.] She seems to know everything about, well everything! Except flowers. [She giggled.] That seems to be my specialty!

OH! Miss Jade! Do you think I should open my own flower shop?

[nukeoleptic]

Well.. I work at one that's owned by a native! In the Sigyn network. It's really nice, Alice. [ Though Jade cheats a bit with her powers. ]

Oh... [Alice frowns. It's not that she wouldn't want to work in one already made, and the idea of working with Jade would be nice, but she can't... she doesn't think she'll be able to, seven as she is.]

I suppose... well I don't know much of running a business anyways, I just like flowers.
