edited months later because the doctor or at least one of him is a pedantic douche
you may now return to your regularly scheduled programming

[ooc: Opt out for his quirk is here! And. Sorry. He borrowed a computer from Jade and used the bracelet to take pictures of the screen.]

so whats the deal when people die here
does the ground swallow and spit them back up or what
because maybe its just me but dying in battle is a pretty fucking messy way to go and im not seein a corpse patch itself up
[Text - Filtered]
Usually what happens is the dead person's body fades away and then later they wake up back in the same room you should have seen when you got here. You shouldn't have to worry about previous injuries or the ground eating you. That is if you're planning on dying at all. [Or not planning on it, either way.] Although seeing someone get patched up isn't so bad if it means they'll be okay again. [Which she can really only say because she sees it on a daily basis.]
[Text - Filtered]
so theres no penalty for it or anything
you just die and wake back up totally fine
[Text - Filtered]
[Text - Filtered]
i guess that explains the morbid guy asking for volunteers to the slaughter
[Text - Filtered]
[There's probably SOMEBODY who'd do it, really. But--]
Which morbid guy?
[Text - Filtered]
found it while i was looking through the archives it was a pretty recent post
[Text - Filtered]
[She's... decidedly not impressed.]
But if it helps there don't seem to be very many people like that around here. [... Er,] Although there are plenty of people who aren't always kind. It helps to be careful. [....] Everyone else can see what you're saying on the network unless you take precautions. [Which... might be why she filters everything.]
[Text - Filtered]
i ran a bunch of blogs so im used to being in the public eye so to speak
but does that mean i passed your creep filtering test with flying colors
[Text - Filtered]
If you think it's okay for you. [She does have a bit more reason to hide than the average person, after all, but that's not worth mentioning.]
[--Hee.] Yes. You did. You've been here before after all. [And she may have made use of that 'most things are public' factor. Anyway,] That and I think you and I know some of the same people.
[Text - Filtered]
uh well sorry i dont remember you
but you know jade and john then
thats cool
[Text - Filtered]
Jade more than John if it's the same John I'm thinking of. [Considerably so; John she's only met or seen briefly.] She used to have the room next to mine. She's a very nice girl.
[... Hm. She's really not certain how the subject might be received, but--]
I also know Dave.
[Text - Filtered]
cant say im surprised
dude gets around
[Text - Filtered]
I'm glad he's good at socializing then.
[Pause.]
How do you know him?
[Text - Filtered]
im his ghostly spirit guide
or i was i took off to do my own thing a while ago
havent seen him in a few years actually
[Text - Filtered]
That [... What is there to say about that?] sounds like a very interesting situation. Maybe you'll meet again in the city. [She's... not sure whether that's what he'd want out of the situation or not, but,] So what did you do? As your own thing I mean.
[Text - Filtered]
but i just looked for my bro
fought some monsters and got a badass sword forged by a hulking dude in a flaming mohawk
which isnt actually the sick burn it sounds like
his head was literally on fire
[Text - Filtered]
Is it the good kind of inevitability or the bad kind?
[-- Welp.]
That sounds very uncomfortable. [-- Oh, except--] What was the hulking dude's [to use his wording] name? [Because she can think of someone else with flames for hair, and it's not exactly a positive connection to make.]
[Text - Filtered]
and his names hephaestus
lord of the forge
sleeper of the most inconvenient goddamn times lifted straight from the dusty stone tablets of greek mythology
[Text - Filtered]
[Greek mythology? That sounds familiar, but... hm.]
Sounds like quite an adventure. But at least you got what you needed right? Even if it wasn't at a convenient time. [Pause.] He didn't mention anyone named Hades did he?
[Text - Filtered]
i dont think theres a denizen around named after that guy actually
maybe in another session?
but not ours
[Text - Filtered]
Named after him?
[Not the actual-- hm.]
So you have heard the name before?
[Text - Filtered]
god of the underworld or some shit right
[If it weren't so fourth wally, he'd comment about Disney making a movie with him in it.]
im not too tight with mythology but im pretty sure hes kind of a big deal
[Text - Filtered]
[
And it would not even be the strangest thing she's ever been told in her life.]My worlds had a version of him too. [For lack of a better term.] He's [... well.] not a very nice man. Or at least the one I know of isn't. I'm glad you didn't have to deal with him.
