I think ... Somethin' went funny. All my clothes are too big. How come?

[Something is fishy in the state of Asgard. Rose has been cursed, for more of a prank than anything else. She's five. This is stupid. Who even came up with this?]

I've got a gun.

[Wait, that sounded bad. Like get your arse whooped kind of bad.]

I think it's mine, but I don't... think I should have it. Uhm. What should I do with it?

Rose? Rose Tyler?

[She was a child, that's what. Of course River didn't dare mention this]

What's the last thing you remember?

[There is a vague sort of thinking-thinking-thinking look on her face. Thinking very, very hard.]

I was... Looking for a sweater. [She reaches off screen, grabs one of her normal-sized sweater, now much too large.]

I had tea an' jammie dodge's with the Doctor yesterday, too?

[ O'Brien probably would've reacted to this if he'd never talked to Rose in the first place- kid with a gun, that is not good. Not good at all. ]

I can take it. Where are you?

[Just give her a minute to process this]

Don't do anything with the gun, just put it on the ground and step away from it. Where are you right now?

[She doesn't see what the big deal is??? Just that none of her clothes fit and this is really frustrating because she is really not planning on wearing one outfit for ... ever.]

It's over on the table. I won't touch it. [ :C ] In my room. [Wait, hold on.] Kids aren't s'posed t'let strangers in their room, though.

[Oh yeah, River is one she hasn't actually, properly, met yet.]

[Oh hey, she remembers that voice. Not!stranger.]

[Smart girl, very smart. River was impressed with her wariness]

[Oh! Well, if she knew the Doctor, that immediately made everything alright. Because, well. Doctor wouldn't have bad friends or anything like that. Enemies maybe, but friends? Nope. She could trust that.]

River Song. [Hm.] Nice name. My door says 408. In... Fff.. Freya.

[ Hello fellow teeny person! ]

Don't shoot anyone. [ That's Scott's advice. ] Only adults are allowed guns. That's what my best friend's dad says and he's sheriff. How do you know it's yours?

I'm not touchin' it. [RLY SCOTT. Even if it looks child-sized, she's not that dumb. ~~Usually.~~]

Your friend's dads a sheriff? Issat like the chief constable or somethin'? But in America?

[Again, smart girl. Good instincts too]

[Being from the Freya house herself, it was easy for her to get there and even stay there if the need arose. She nodded before switching off her device and heading over the the location little Rose had given her.

Pretty soon there was a knock on her door]

[And pretty soon, there would be a pipsqueak of a girl opening said door. Really, she was just a midget. Rose was short to begin with, and apparently it wasn't because she had a growth-spurt early.

And now, suddenly in person, she seems a little more shy. Silly, that.]

'Lo, River Song.

[River didn't have much practice in interacting with children, but then again Rose seemed to retain her memories, except she was in a much smaller form and had child like tendencies. It was hard to know how to approach her. She definitely couldn't be on her own

The first thing she did was to rush over to where the gun was laying. If it was loaded, she'd unload it, if not she'd tuck it further out of sight]

Would you like me to walk with you over to the Doctor's house? We can wait for him to come home.

[And figure out how to deal with this]

[Not 'technically' loaded, since it was a mini phaser gun- but she could certainly switch it off without issue. And tucking it out of sight is a-okay. Rose is just gonna stand there awkwardly and watch. She knows it's .. hers, but why, she hasn't the faintest. It just makes her nervous.

Of course, at the mention of the Doctor, she seems to immediately perk up. At least a little.]

Yeah- let's go there. I've only been t'his place once. 'Sides th'TARDIS. [Tawh-dis. Rose pls, you know how to pronounce things.] ... That's not here yet, is it?

It's happened to you as well?

[ And here we have another tiny person with a very distressed expression, wearing a shirt clearly meant for an adult with the sleeves rolled up clumsily past his elbows. One sleeve is already threatening to slip down. ]

Um...I'm not supposed to touch guns. or anything sharp. or cats. maybe you should give it to a grown up.

[Raaaahhhrryyyy.]

I think so. [Frowning because well. She doesn't really remember being older. It's all kind of fuzzy.]

I'm not givin' you the gun. I'm givin' it to River Song.

[Because you have to say the whole name. Every time.]

I don't want the gun!

[ SO HORRIFIED AT THE VERY THOUGHT. ]

River who?

[GOSH, RORY.]

Good! 'Cause it'd be really weird if y'did.

[Eye narrowing.] River Song. The lady with really mental hair.

[She means that in a nice way, she swears. Also mimicking curls on her head, just for you, Rory.]

I don't! [ It is very important that you know he doesn't want it okay. ] Someone could get hurt.

Oh. [ Why are you narrowing your eyes at him Rose he's frightened ] Why did you have a gun anyway? I found a sword, but I'm not touching it.

[She's not frightening, shut up Rory. She's a peach compared to Amy.]

Why d'you have a sword? I dunno. I think it's mine- but I can't 'member.

[ Oh, dear. That is... really no good. ]

TARDIS isn't here, but I can take you to where the Doctor is staying.

[For a moment River simply steps ahead of Rose and opens the door. Then she remembers to reach and grab the little girl's hand. It was best if Rose didn't wander off]

Just stick close to me.

[She began to walk over to the district their house was in

If they don't, call me back. And don't touch it, either.

[Oh good. And hand holding is- well, she's not going to pull away just yet. It's alright. For now.]

Where does he live? I don't 'member. Where d'you live? Do you know guns like mine? Why? How comes the TARDIS isn't here yet? Did he lose it again? Did you lose it?

[Look, she's bored already okay are we there yet?]

Hi, Doctor-- [Beaming because there you are.]

Yeah. My clothes. But they don't fit. [This is a bit of a crisis okay.] My blue jacket don't fit.

[ Oh. Okay. Memories been switched about, sort of like for Soushi...

Ah.

Wave away that thought. There's a very small hole in his heart left after that man. And to think he won't remember any of this. He doesn't like that. Doesn't like memories either, really, but he likes the idea that he won't have them even less than he likes the memories themselves. ]

Oh, nothing. Must be the gods mucking about; they do that.

[ Rose shouldn't have a gun in the first place, even less like this. It hurts him. ]

[Well, you know. She has one. Protection wise. She doesn't usually fire it- it's in fairly new condition, at the very least. And she knows not to touch it while she's like this. That's something, isn't it?

But she's in the middle of shaking her head at his question- and then telling her to stay and well alright then. But ugh, hurry up okay, staying is boring. Her room is boring. Nothin' to do.]

How long's it gonna take?

What's a constable? Is that like a police officer? The sheriff stops bad things happening where you live...

You're not from America, are you?

Chief o'police person. I think. They sound kinda the same.

[It's not as if River Song has a handbook for taking care of children. She's just sort of winging this as she goes a long]

[Finally, after what felt like forever, they arrived at the Doctor's place. She opened the door and led Rose inside]

I know lots of guns, especially the kind you have. It's from the future. The TARDIS can't come here, I don't think the gods here would ever allow such advanced technology. Any other questions?

[Frownnnn. Such a scowl.]

Everybody lives here? How come my room's not here? [Because this obviously is a thing.]

How come I had it? A future gun.

The gods aren't very nice, then. The TARDIS won't hurt 'em.

I think you'll have to ask the Doctor about that. My room was originally in the Freya district when I arrived.

[Children sure ask a lot of questions]

I'm sure the Doctor can answer that question too. You must have been in the future at some point before coming here.

[ Don't wander off, for once, please, Rose. Not when you're this small. Asgard is at least relatively harmless, but... ]

[Parking her arse down on the bed, chin in hand. Boring.]

[ Yeah, that's pretty true. He's not being forced to hide forever with Rose. ]

I dunno. But I've got one and I don't think I should touch it. It might hurt someone. It might be mine, but I dunno why I'd have a sword.

I won't be that long, like I said, and then we'll figure something out.

[Except she's totally going to wander off- if just into the rest of the Freya house. Mainly to the lobby. Because there's stuff to do down there- or at least things to look at. It's closer than her room, anyway.]
