[There's a small exhalation as Leo starts to talk. It sounds like he's been thinking about this for quite a while.]

I gotta admit... I don't know much about this place, but it sounds like a lot of you want to go and save this Freyr guy. I don't know that much about him other than his name and that he used to be a God, but.... I want to save him too. But if we're going to be travelling together, then I guess I gotta keep a few less secrets huh? Some of you have heard my voice already, but only a few of you have actually seen me in person. Well, there's a pretty good reason for that...

[With a sigh, Leo presses the button on his bracelet that turns it on to video mode, showing him off in all his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle glory.]

My name is Leonardo, and I'm a ninja.... among other things. I was born an ordinary turtle, but when my brothers and I were babies, we fell into a puddle of this alien ooze and...

[He gestures around with his hands.]

Here I am now.

And just for the record, I still think this is a bad idea. You have no idea how many of my sensei's orders I just broke by doing this, but... if I'm going to be fighting on the same side or doing whatever we need to do to save Freyr, then I don't want any of you to attack me thinking I'm not on your side.

[There's a moment of shock, she has to admit that, but Asgard has prepared her for pretty much anything. Even a giant turtle. So she just regards him seriously, only her eyes slightly softened by admiration.]

[Leo can't help a small chuckle at that.]

That's not the word I know atleast one of my brothers would use, but thanks. I appreciate it.

You don't have to thank me, it's true. [She swallows, glancing away from the feed.] I kept one of my biggest secrets from a lot of people until I thought we'd never be seeing one another again, and... it just ended up hurting a lot of them. It's better to be open, as scary as it is.

Well that's the thing about secrets. They can be self-destructive, even if you keep them for good reason.

[He sighs.]

I have a feeling I'm still gonna pay for letting this one out of the bag though. Especially if my Master comes here and sees this.

It's the right thing to do, though, I'm sure you can make him see that. Someone with skills like yours will be so important to us when we have to fight... it would be awful of you to hide away because you were afraid of people seeing you.

[For a moment, Fuuka raised an eyebrow at him. She didn't mind that he was a talking ninja turtle ~~of pure awesome~~, it was more the fact that he needed to hide it. There were so many people here in Asgard of different worlds, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Still, he might not feel comfortable with it.]

It sounds like you made your choice...just like I have.

[Norman likes turtles, and ninjas are pretty awesome which is why he's gawking a bit at the feed. First meeting Jack Frost and now talking to a turtle who's a ninja? Asgard finds all kinds of awesome people.]

...Cool. [Wait a second-- compose yourself, Norman.] Uh, sorry. Who's your sensei?

[...that was a pretty amazing story.]

You were born a normal little turtle? Like something someone could buy at a pet store and you grew up to be able to speak and everything? That's.... incredible. Really.

Don't worry too much, alright? For a while, we had a lot of people here who used to be magical horses in their own world. And we have a lot of other people here who aren't human, so, there's no reason to be too apprehensive, I wouldn't think.

[Here, Leonardo, have a rather haughty fish troll glaring at your screen.]

[He's trying to be humble, but if he sounds like he's enjoying her complimenting him, it's only because he is.]

Well... most humans tend to give me a pretty good reason. No offense, but back in my world, there are only two humans who I can really say are our friends, and one of them's a blind guy.

I know this world has different rules, but... [A shrug.] Old habits, I guess?

Uh, yeah. Hope this means I'm not fired from gathering that stuff now.

[A nervous chuckle. He's honestly getting better reactions to this then he expected... and part of that worries him.]

What choice is that? Are you coming with us Fuuka-san?

[He chuckles at that.]

You're the second person to call me that.

[He is picturing Raphael's reaction to him being called brave for making this dumb decision and he is loving it.]

And yeah, that was me. Hope this explains why I was more than a little tight-lipped.

[Leo's not the kind to get any kind of enjoyment out of a kid gawking at him...]

[...... yeah he is. But only if it's the good kind of gawking.]

I just told you I'm a mutant turtle who's also a ninja, kid. You're allowed to be a little surprised.

Sorry, but there're some things I'm not able to tell you about that. I'm gonna get in enough trouble for telling people this much about me and my family. I will tell you that he was a ninja from Japan who came to America and bought my brothers and I from a pet store. After we mutated, he raised us as his son's and taught us ninjutsu. We call him Splinter.

[And that's all you're getting out of him.]

Yeah. Our Sensei bought us from a pet store fifteen years ago. We had our... accident right after that. Ever since then, he raised and trained us.

I know, people keep telling me that. I'm still new here though, and since my Sensei gave us clear instructions to avoid people I think...

[..... wait.]

Magic.... horses?

[And Leo can glare right back.]

You must have missed the part where I said ninja. Staying in the shadows is kind of what we do.

And even if that were true about humans, I'd rather avoid the usual screaming and attacks I get when I try and be social.

[And excuse Leo while he winces. This is certainly better than he expected... albeit he was still expecting shrieking of a sort.]

Y-yes Inoue-san. Sorry to keep the wool over your eyes, but I hope you can see why I was so shy now.

I can understand your caution in such a situation.

Regardless, it is commendable.

I'm... sorry. [She hangs her head, looking stricken.] Humans can be just as terrible to our own kind, believe me... people don't like anything that doesn't fit their tiny picture of how the world should be. But it is different here, I promise, and even if a few people are mean to you, I know that almost everyone will really respect you for joining us.

[Then something fierce comes over her expression, and she looks up again.] And if they don't like it, I'll talk to them.

I can easily understand why your Sensei would want you to stay away from Humans in general. Our track record with meeting new cultures and creatures is pretty much spectacularly terrible. But this is a different place. Everyone you meet here is from a different world and there's a wider range of species and cultures here than anywhere else. If there was any place it would be safe for you to show who you are, I would say it's here.

Yeah! My reaction was pretty much the same, but then I was shown some books on it in the Library. They gained a human body when they got here, so, a little different to your situation. But they came from a land called Equestria and they were originally unicorns and pegasi. So, by comparison, being a turtle isn't quite so out there.

And no, it's probably not a good idea like you said. But, take it from somebody who's been forced to do a few things she thought were dumb as hell for about the same reason, this place doesn't quite work like home. I think you'll probably be ok.

[Eridan tilts his head in confusion.]

Second a' all, it is true. See, you basically admitted it there. It's not like the humans havve any lovve for you, so wwhy try to get'em to like you.
