[ The video clicks on to reveal an elderly man peering into his bracelet, looking extremely perplexed. After a long moment of just staring, he opens his mouth to speak and an English accent comes through. ]

[ Wilf taps the bracelet a couple of times, his brow furrowed in confusion. ]

Hello? Hello? ... Wilfred Mott to mission control? [ He grins a bit at that, because - ha! - he's hilarious.

However, his amusement soon passes and leans in closer, raising his voice so that he's now practically shouting down to whoever's listening. ]

CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? ... Oh, you can? Good. Blimey. Sorry 'bout that, wasn't too sure there for a second. Now, like I said, my name's Wilf and I - well - [ He looks around him, scratching the top of his head and frowning. ] I seem to have gotten meself a bit lost. 'Least I don't remember this bein' on the way down to the corner shop. [ Another smirk, because he's on fire with these quips. While the smile stays in place - polite and friendly as he addresses the masses - he rubs his hands together and is suddenly all business. ] Right. Anyone mind fillin' me in? [ He leans in again, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. ] This isn't them aliens again, is it?

[ He looks ready to shut off the bracelet when suddenly something else occurs to him. ]

Oh! And if anyone's seen a redhead runnin' about - bit of a temper on her - give me a shout. She's probably hangin' round a big, blue box thing with a tall, skinny sort of bloke in pinstripes.

[ Here, Wilfred; have a bushy-haired Japanese girl peering at you. Her expression flits easily, openly, through bewilderment, concern, annoyance, and back again. She finally settles on a small smile. ]

Hello, Mott-san! I've only been here for a couple of days, myself, so I don't know how much I'll be able to help you . . . [ She sighs, trying to think of something constructive to offer him. ] I don't know anything about aliens, but everybody here says that we were kidnapped by gods.

[ Jade likes him, though - he kind of reminds her of her grandpa. ]

Did you listen to the maid when you got here?

[ His eyes widen in surprise at that. ]

Blimey. You mean everythin' that maid said back there was true?

Well, I just thought it was a load of old tosh. You mean it's all true?

Mm! I know it's hard to believe, but . . . it's all true, every word.

[ He shakes his head. ]

Thought I'd seen it all by now - or, you know, a fair bit of it anyway - but kidnapped by gods - that's... well, that's a new one.

[ He visibly straightens, smiling widely at the mention of England. ]

I am, indeed! London, to be precise.

There are a lot of people here with tempers [including herself, not that she's going to admit it] but I don't think I've seen one with a blue box around.

[ Similarly, she brightens, lips twitching into a bright and genuine smile. ]

I have a friend from London! Hakuba Saguru! He's a detective.

My granddaughter - Donna. Donna Noble.

Don't s'pose you've seen her about?

Nope, sorry. The name isn't really ringing any bells for me.

There's an idea! Hang on-- [ There's a lot of fumbling as he tries to find the contact list.

He eventually does and he disappears for a couple of minutes to scroll through it, brow furrowed deeply in concentration. When he does return, the smile he was wearing has faded slightly. ]

She's not there. [ He shakes his head slightly, before straightening up and forcing the smile back into place. ] Still, though! Probably just as well. Wouldn't want her caught up in all this anyway.

[ He exhales a laugh at that. ] Blimey, you can say that again!

Oh, you know, little green men from outer space. Only they're not little green men as it happens - can look like anythin', I s'pose. My granddaughter said she came across these ones that looked like bloomin' great big baked potatoes.

[ Wilf looks absolutely ecstatic that someone seems to know them. ]

That's them! Do you know where I can find 'em?

Well, I've met aliens before.

It's always hard the first few days. The city's nice, but you miss home and your friends and family.

[She puts a smile on, too.]

Your granddaughter might even show up here one day. Some of my friends just got here and I've been here months already.
