(Day 183) Two: Holiday Festivities and the Like

And there it is. The bitter wind that chills the very soul of this land. I admit, when I first arrived here I did not know if I should expect winter to come, but indeed it is here. I wonder if it will be anything like the winters back home? Of course, we'll all have our different experiences in winter, I'm sure.

I think it's only fair that I start getting to know a few people here better, perhaps an easy, foretelling question. Which of the seasons do you like best?

So, if I may inquire. How many of you would be interested in having a little Secret Santa going on? Or just a secret gift giving, if you're not familiar with the robust, jovial fellow in the red ensemble. I can organize it, I rather like these sort of endeavours.

All you would really need to do is drop a present off at my apartment. Odin 101. Make sure there's a note on it saying who it's for and where it needs to be delivered.
I'm no fortune teller: I can't just guess where the recipient lives.
A couple of weeks from now I'll deliver the presents myself. If there are a lot, I might need a hand, but we'll see.

I've always been fond of spring. But winter is interesting, as well. This will be the first one I've had away from that island in a long time.

Well, about this time of year there's a series of holidays that are celebrated relatively close to each other. They usually entail large festivities, merrymaking, and acts of goodwill.

Part of these festivities is the sharing of gifts among friends, family, or otherwise. Santa is more of a Christian belief, and, at least where I'm from, he's something of a plump fellow in a red suit who goes from house to house leaving presents. That man's name is Santa Claus.

While I think a year ago I might have told you he was "fake", I'm more inclined to believe that there's a chance that somewhere he's quite real.

Anyway, the point of it being 'secret' is just for a bit of fun, and I'm probably stealing Mr. Claus's thunder a bit here, but I'm not exactly holding out for his work.
