First Arrow - Video/action for Heimdall house

[Through quite a bit of trial and error and button pushing, Robin has managed to access the video feed.

He can be seen with a piece of wood in his hands that he is using to create a bow. It looks rather rough, but he is confident enough in his bow-crafting abilities that it will work by the time he has finished with it.

He has only recently arrived in Asgard, but the main question on his mind right now has less to do with wars, the gods, or being taken away from everything he knows. No, he considers this question of extreme importance, and that is why he is addressing the network.]

Tell me, is there an archery range to be found around here?

[Because Robin Hood's skills are too great to be allowed to fall into disuse.]

It's not hard to find -- the Arena is easily the biggest building in Thor.

It's just interesting to me! It's not something I've seen anyone do before.

[Well, that's something she didn't see that often. A thought hit her, and she cocked her head when she replied.]

I'm assuming if you want a range and you can carve your own bow you actually know how to use the damned thing decently.

I am sure that I will find it, and this Thor, easily enough. [He smiles.] I must see this arena for myself.

Considering the fact that if I do not make my own weapon, I shall have to resort to being unarmed or perhaps using another weapon with which I am less acquainted, this seems the better choice. I have not yet come across a weapon seller.

I should hope that I do know how to use one correctly. Or else my reputation would prove to be a lie, and the people who believe it to be liars and untrustworthy. [That amuses him, because as far as he is concerned, the people of Locksley village are very trustworthy and honest folk.]

What, were you William Tell in some former life? You're a pretty far way away from home to be worried about your rep here. We all pretty much start at square one around here.

Again, you'll find them in Thor! That's the blue-ish district on your map. It's easy to find -- there's a main road that goes all around the city in a big circle. Stay on that road and evenutally you'll get to Thor.

Uuuuuuh, probably. They're pretty good about providing anything you could probably want, provided you don't need, I don't know. A computer. Or a way home.

I do not know this William Tell, so I cannot say, any more than I can about a former life.

And I am not worried about my reputation. I am certain it shall remain intact. [Despite the best efforts of Gisbourne and the sheriff, that is.

I am not certain what a computer is, but a way home would be a welcome thing. I guessed already that our captors are not interested in seeing us leave.

[Robin laughs.] It is, but it is not yet finished, as I have only started. It will be a recurve bow by the time I have completed it.

I am told that it happens here, from time to time. You are only just the first person I have met that this has happened to.

I am afraid I do not know of who you speak.

Heh, you're a cocky one aren't you? Well, I guess if you're actually making your own bow, you probably deserve a rep. Name's Samantha.

You could use the range at the Citadel, if you want. I'm an archery instructor there, so I know the range is good. [ Does she look a little proud of herself? Because she is. ]

You could use the trees in the park, but I wouldn't exactly advise it if other people are around. [ She pauses, pursing her lips. ] The Arena in Thor should have one.

It depends on who you ask. I know of a woman from home who would agree with you on that.

Hah. Now you're going to say you're Robin Hood or something [She met him the last time he was here, or rather talked to him on the feed. Finding out he was back would be a sort of amusing shock for her. Admittedly, there had been so many versions of the story that who could say she'd even met the same one...]

That cannot be an easy thing to accept, that the friends you have made may depart and return without a single memory of that friendship.

Great. You've been here before. [Not telling him about old kid's stories.] About a month ago. We didn't talk much, and you weren't here for very long. I'm going to bet you don't remember having been here before by the sounds of things.

That happens sometimes. Hell, there might be more than one Robin Hood. Who knows?

I shall have to see this Citadel for myself, but I do not doubt your judgment. I have not yet completed my own weapon. [He gestures to his half finished recurve bow.] Are there spares in working order that I may use?

I am not one for training where others may be found. But my arrows do not miss their marks, and my marks are only other people if there is no other way.

[He shrugs.] Trees are not suitable targets. I have had several suggestions for places in which to train, and I mean to see them all.

I've know what a crossbow is, but I've never heard of a recurve bow.

[Same principle, he's guessing. Insert arrow, shoot arrow, etc, but it's always interesting to see how other weapons are made.]

You can make your own? [ Allison's never tried, but it sounds like a pretty sweet skill. Though she much prefers the complicated compound bows, which aren't exactly homemade-friendly. ] There are, yeah. It'd be kind of silly of us to require beginners to have their own bows, so you can use one of those until you finish yours.
