[ This morning, Uther is so dressed up the only thing missing is his crown. Not all that different from the last time he contacted the whole network, really, but there is also a slight change in posture and perhaps he looks even more, well, king-ly, even without that crown. He does have it, and it's so strange to not put it on.

But he hasn't really worn it for quite a while at this point. That is even stranger. But what's the point?

He's standing this time, rather than sitting, with the bracelet obviously placed on something to give a good view. Don't worry, he'll put it back on. His hands are behind his back, though, so you can't actually see that he's taken it off. ]

Travellers.

A while ago, further than I would have liked, I came to you with the suggestion of giving lessons on war. There was interest and I am here to follow up on it. It is at a convenient time that I make this, as I do believe it is soon time for new arrivals and they might not see this. Therefore, I ask that you, Travellers, spread the word. I will make sure it is advertised through other means than just the network, however, as this is also open to the natives.

[ A slight pause. ]

The lessons will start the day after tomorrow. I apologise for the short notice, however I believe it is important to start as soon as possible.

Each lesson will be taught over three days at different time, as to ensure as many as possible will be able to find a time where they can go. The lessons will take place in Draupnir, the theatre in the Freyr district. I will meet you outside and lead you to whichever room we have for the day. Do make sure to be on time.

This is not building an army. If you wish to join one, I direct you to my son, Arthur Pendragon, as he is arranging one. It is also not practical training for battle. For that, I also direct you to my son, as he runs the Citadel, which is focused on non-magical means of fighting.

[ Another pause, so he can take an unnoticeable breath. ]

If you wish to learn about your magic, instead, I direct you to Merlin, who runs the Teacher's Council. I.. will see about possibly bringing these abilities into my teachings in the future, but for now, they will not be brought up by me. You are free to do so yourself, however.

[ Free speech is strange, but he's trying to Get It. ]

The schedule is in written form, and I shall send it shortly. I hope to see you.

[ And he bows his head before he moves to shut the recording off. After he sends the schedule, he sends some private messages. ]

Uther, while he was here, Niccolo Machiavelli commissioned me to take some notes while I did a survey of the city. I was looking for other things, but the maps have some notes on the layout of the city. The maps here are pretty damned accurate, but they don't have much notes on dimensions or specific defenses.

Not sure how good they are, but you want to have a look at them? The notes I have mostly deal with fighting if you're alone.

When and where?

I can bring them over. I'll explain the blue lines and notes if you want, but they'd be more of interest to Merlin right now. I don't know if we can use the ley lines in fighting anyway. I'll bring copies over to you. It's a little bulky, so do you want to meet over at the library, maybe tomorrow?

[He's so surprised, and blind-sided by this, he forgets to put up the filters and blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.]

I wouldn't mind explaining anything at all. About the magic. I mean, we can talk about other things, too, but obviously you want to know about the magic first instead of other...things. And. Erm.

[He bites his lip, deciding it's probably a good time to stop babbling, and gives a short, stiff bow--it's probably the most respectful he's been toward Uther since he got here.] Sire.

[ At first, Arthur's prepared to drop in to smack him for that initial blunder. Did you work on that spectacular cock up? I mean, really, on the list of Things Not To Do in Regards to Uther and Magic -

but then he listens to the rest of it, and. Gods, with how astounding and surreal everything else is, Merlin's inane babbling is just so Merlin, so completely commonplace and normal that Arthur just laughs. Perhaps a bit hysterically, if anyone were around to hear him, but no. He's alone, and he laughs freely and openly until years come to his eyes, and then he laughs some more.

[ Even if Merlin hadn't moved on, Uther wouldn't have given that outburst a response. As it is, he merely rolls his eyes and sighs because... idiot. How is Merlin still the same idiot?

Just the abilities, Merlin. This is about the Travellers and their safety - anything else is much less important.

Correct. That way, people can arrange themselves into their own groups if they wish, and still be capable of fighting.

What kind of things do you plan on teaching?
