[Well, well, well. If it isn't your resident kindly god figure, Asgard. Jacob looks weary, but his blue eyes are bright, and he stares at the camera with a tiny smile, as if to reassure all who are listening to him.]

Of course, war provides the most adversity of all...and considering what happened the last several days, I believe many people aren't yet over the suffering and pain caused by the attack. But what we need right now is to heal each other, physically and emotionally- if there is someone in need of help, help them. If you are in need of help, don't hesitate to ask.

Because, in times like this, we need to find strength in ourselves and one another if we want to get through adversity. Don't take it all on yourself...it will do you no good. But some people don't believe that. We'll all very different, we god-kidnapped people...

[A pause.]

What do you believe, Asgard? Are you ready to trust your fellow man and fight this war together? Or are we all too unlike each other to even consider cooperating?

You know, I've met War.

[With the air of talking about the weather. And Sam seems intent on leaving it that, on shuffling a sheaf of papers out of the way, reaching for his cup of coffee, when he adds:]

We need trust and co-operation. I mean, under the kind of leadership we have right now... all we really have is each other. Everything will fall apart if we can't work together.

[Yes, this is the young girl he's talked to a few times, now under the effects of an age-up curse. If he remembers her, he might be a bit surprised when he sees the name attached to this post. If not... s'all good.]

[He doesn't seem too surprised- hey, when Lucifer apparently existed in Sam's world, he's not surprised War does too.]

[ Sort of... she doesn't think she's in any condition to be of any help to others in her same condition.

Also her voice is kind of worn out and like... defeated from what happened around her the past days. ]

I don't think I can trust everyone around here. That would be too much, wouldn't it?

[It's actually pretty cruel to do to a girl who won't grow up unless she's kept here forever, but she's dealing with that.]

Of course I am. Even though the gods are a bunch of assholes, giving up means the destruction of everything we all know and love, right?

[There's a pause, and then his smile widens, making him look highly amused.]

Good. And if we are to believe them, then yes, that is the case.

What about those who don't wish to cooperate, though?

[He looks concerned, because really, that tone of voice is something to worry about. He hopes you're alright, Hanako.]

Perhaps. It's up to you to decide. Besides, not all people are created equal. Some are more trustworthy than others.

Are you sure? It is a big deal...forcing someone to grow up isn't something you can shake off so easily.

[He blinks, eyes never leaving her face.]

But some people don't agree with that. How would one convince them of what you believe?

Yeah--cooperation and bonding and stuff. [His tone is rather dismissive of it.] Whatever.

[That smile never leaves his face- even the tone of his voice is light and not at all attacking or threatening.]

The great philosophers wrote about cooperation and bonding and "stuff". Were they trying to emulate kid shows, too?

War waits for no one, ready or not. It's selfish that way. True?

But... fortes fortuna juvat, ah? Fortune favors the brave. [Oddly enough, he said those very words to an adorably tiny girl earlier in the day.]

The great philosophers aren't always right. And they were more logical about the discussion.

And I guess you're saying I'm not as logical as they are.

Very true. Which is why you can't idly sit and twiddle your thumbs while it is occurring.

It does. But whether all of what happened is "fortune" is yet to be seen.

No, I mean you're making it too simple. Like it has to be one or the other.

I make it simple so that people understand what is offer at the far ends of each spectrum.

People are free to make more specific choices. Hence why I asked- it gives me a chance to see what people actually think.

If we don't help in the war our worlds get destroyed, right? That's pretty simple.

If you truly believe what the gods say, then yes. They get destroyed if we lose.

Then there's no choice. We have to fight.

I want to believe that we can come together for this war. Sometimes we don't agree but I think most do want to go home.

I... I know why they chose this, and it is kind of cruel. But I won't let them see me suffering from it. That means they've won.

[Her brow furrows.] I know some people will never agree. I've been through that before. But I think we've got enough people here that are willing to work together that the ones who aren't won't hurt us too badly. Obviously I'd rather see the entire city as one, but... some people just won't work together. You can't bang your head against a brick wall forever.
