[Today, you're getting a new face on the network, Asgard. A teenage girl, no older than eighteen, one who clearly doesn't put much effort into style or glamor; amongst many things, her hair is somewhat in disarray, as a result of the number of times she's run her hands through it. There's a hesitation before she speaks.]

I guess someone has the power to make the rain disappear.

[... No, Bella. Just stop while you're ahead. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

She continues after a pause.]

So they were pretty vague on the whole... power thing when I got here. [Another pause; it's obvious that public speaking isn't her forte] I was wondering if there was some sort of library. Or anywhere I could find more information.

[She almost leaves it at that, but then changes her mind right at the last second. As awkward as this is, she figures she should introduce herself. Once is better than over and over, right?]

I'm Bella, by the way. Bella Swan.

[There's a grunt on the other end. The voice has a scratchy, tired and coarse quality to it, like the person who was speaking was either exhausted or had been crying.

Eridan she could deal with... new kids were harder. This one, at least sounded almost sensible. Maybe.]

Odin district. Ask around, it's easy to find once you're there. There should be a map accessible through your bracelet or something nearby. I can't remember anymore. Been walking these streets and using my own map for a while.

Rain's pretty much normal around here. Comes and goes, and it's usually dry.

Library is in the Odin district - The maid should have given you a map when she was telling you about things. It looks kind of like a pie chart, I know, but it really is a map. You won't find any information on this world there, though. It's unfortunate, but the Gods don't tell us much.

[The perception that she's almost sensible may have some accuracy to it. At least until she gets in the presence of someone named Edward Cullen. Then, anything remotely resembling... sensibility has a tendency to fly out the proverbial window.

[A pause; her speech is generally full of them]

[Yeah, about that map. Bella kind of dropped it into a puddle in the middle of a torrential downpour. But we don't have to talk about that.

Sounds like Oregon. Hated that damned place. Never stopped raining over there, and it smelled like trees. Reminded me too much of home.

Not a problem. If you see some gray-skinned joker with fins on his head and yellow horns hiding inside a book fort, kick his ass and tell him to get the hell out of there, would you? I've got too much on my plate to bother with it personally.

The others pointed it out, but the library is located in the Odin district. It won't be hard to notice, since it's the largest building in the area. However, as Hisao pointed out- there are no informations about Asgard situated there. They're locked from us travellers for some reason. [ "Probably because they don't trust us." What irony. ]

May I ask what power you have been given? My name is Hanako Ikezawa, by the way.

It seems that you've already been told where the library is, so I won't repeat the information. That said, you won't find much there in the way of answers for this city or our situation. The selection otherwise is excellent, but our gods seem to have chosen to keep us in the dark as much as possible. [a beat, then a warm smile] However, if you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them if I can, Bella.

[Snort.]

There's a library in the Odin district... It's nice and quiet. [ her voice is shy and quiet as she tentatively adds: ] Um... I know some things, too, if you want information...

[Nice and quiet. Sounds perfect. She'll be spending some good, quality time there.]

I don't know. Sometimes it can be... kind of dangerous. [Mostly to the uncoordinated]

[Well, at any rate, it'd been worth a shot.]

[There is something about that smile, though, that's reassuring, despite herself and the situation she's been thrown into. In response, one of her own appears for about half a second before fading away again.]

Any chance I might find Bronte somewhere in there? [Yes, she's read Wuthering Heights about a million times. But...]

[This is pretty much in keeping with what she's seen from these... "gods" so far. Just means anything she wants to know is going to be harder to get. But this isn't the first time she's encountered a tough secret.

On the other end, though she can't be seen on this mode, she nods her understanding. An understanding, along with what may be the beginnings of some kind of resolve.]

Nice to meet you. [And, after a pause...] They said it was... energy transfer. [Definitely not the most clear-cut of powers]

[There's the shortest of laughs, followed by a small smile. It's nice to meet you too, Orihime!]

Can't say I've ever been much of a fan.

[The significance of which still eludes her. That'll be one of the first things on the reading list, though.]

[Oregon, huh? Small world after all, even in Asgard. She may know a thing or two about that general area. It's the kind of familiarity that can bring some kind of reassurance, even if it's small.]

Did home happen to be Washington?

[She gives an awkward sort of... half-laugh. Her eyes are downcast.]

Well, since you've already been told about where the library is, welcome to Asgard. Apparently we're here to fight a god war. Enjoy your stay.

West Virginia, middle of damned nowhere at the edge of the mountains. It was the trees and their smells, not the rain, that reminded me of home. I prefer it when things don't remind me of there too much.

[The half-laugh was joined. She was looking to the side uncomfortably.]

This place doesn't remind me of anywhere, thankfully. Too surreal.

Ah, I work in the Freya district.

I'm in Sigyn and my power is healing. Do you know what your own power is?

[Oh, good. She'll know someone around, maybe. Even if she doesn't have a face, she has a name.]

Energy transfer. Someone told me a little bit about it.

You know, I never thought about the library. [ And she's been doing a lot of reading here herself. Just not that kind of reason ]

[She's of two minds about her own reminders. For the past several months, they've anchored her to Forks, trapped her in her own inescapable world of pain. It's a difficult thing for anyone to bear. But at the same time, she couldn't leave them, or allow herself to forget. Because they're the only things that still confirm it was all real...--

... In any case, it's something she'd rather not talk about, much less with someone she just met. Time to steer the conversation away just slightly.]

Surreal is a good word for it.

Ugh, yeah. You're going to want to watch yourself around some of the folks here. They dragged in a pretty mixed bunch to this shindig, myself included. As a heads up, if I get flirty... run. Just don't ask questions and run. I'm a little like Doc Jekkyl and Ms Hyde sometimes.
