[ Kotetsu looks ... troubled when the feed clicks on, a far cry from his usual self. For the past few days he's been like this, though he hasn't said much about what's been bothering him. He's a private person, after all, and he's usually uncomfortable with shoving his own problems onto other people, much less even talking about his own feelings. ]

So uuhh ... I know some of you might not want to talk about that whole Darkness thing that happened a few days ago. It was ... pretty scary, to say the least. But I just ... there's something bothering me about it.

[ He pauses, running a hand through his hair and looking away from the screen. ]

I was attacked by a very good friend of mine. You know, that one I was looking for a few weeks ago. I guess he lost his bracelet back then and he went native. He actually nearly killed me... [ He chuckles weakly, as though to brush it off as nothing, but he's been through this twice now and he's honestly not so sure if he can handle it again. ]

I just wanted to ask if anyone else had a similar situation or if they have any ideas as to what all of that was about and who was behind it. Personally, I'm not so sure if it was the Gods' doing this time.

Just ...

Yeah. If anyone's got anything to say about it, I'd like to hear about it.

Yeah, same thing happened to me.

[There's a frown at Sinbad's lips and he twines strands of his hair around his fingers.]

I never found out who was behind it or why, all I know is he was Taken.

Koizumi-san and I were talking about this! Although the gods are interested in making us feel emotions and don't seem to care whether it's negative or positive emotion, they've never before affected their own citizens. It might be that they can't.

On the other hand, the fact that even the citizens who were killed have come back suggests that this wasn't an enemy attack. Which leaves Utgard Loki.

[By the looks of her face, someone else has been more than a bit troubled lately. She looks like she hasn't slept since the Darkness began - and she hasn't, much.]

It was from another Traveler's world. He knew all about it and how to stop it. Whoever did it knew all about his world and found a way to bring that power here... just like we're all brought here. I don't know who else has that ability, unless they're answering to an even higher power we don't know about.

...I'm sorry you were attacked by your friend.

I'm not sure why it happened, though. Sorry.

Has he come back to his senses now that the Darkness is gone?

Yeah, it doesn't really seem like them to be the cause of this. They've done some strange things to many of us, but they have never actually hurt any of the natives. It would be strange for them to do so, when they brought us here to help them in the first place...

Utgard Loki ... ? Meaning that other Loki I've been hearing talk about?

[ Kotetsu sees that look on her face and feels a stab of concern. He's been struggling to come to terms with it himself, but as always, he's far too worried about others, rather than himself. ]

Hnn ... if that's the case, then perhaps the Gods did have something to do with it ...
It still begs the question of why they would hurt/affect the natives they are trying to save, if that is the case.

[ He shrugs, running a hand through his hair. ]

Mmn. It's fine, I'll get over it.
I just hope he'll come back to normal again.

Of course, since the citizens who died have returned, they might not consider it 'hurting' ... but it's still strange enough to make you think twice.

Mm! It's only a theory ... but Utgard Loki made Asgard's citizens disappear once before, so that proves that he at least has power in Asgard enough to effect its citizens.

[ He nods in agreement, crossing his arms over his chest. ]
Have they spoken up about it, though? I haven't heard anything regarding it...

Hmm ... He could be behind it ... Someone from here has to have been behind it at least. None of our original powers work here, right?

How did you handle him when he was Taken? That might have something to do with it.

Well, I ran up to him, 'cause I'd been looking for him for a few weeks ...
And he just attacked out of the blue. I was under the impression that Natives were passive, so I kinda ignored the danger... ;;

So you just kept him locked away till the darkness left?

A-Ano, no! He's still wandering around! I had to run away so he didn't kill me with the 2x4 he had ...

...Oh. Well that explains it then.

I don't think any humans are off-limits to them. Just because they haven't been affected before doesn't mean the gods refuse to involve them if it'll be helpful to them.

Many familiar faces were among the attackers. Once they returned to life, they mercifully returned to their senses as well.

[But he still doesn't believe that killing them was the way to go. There had to be another way.] I know not what could have brought this on.

As far as I know, there's been no word.

That's right. Although -- do you know Alan Wake?

Seriously don't know how I missed the 2x4 ... [ Muttering to himself. Don't mind him. ]

Though, I don't know ... something seems off about it. Moreso than usual.

Why he didn't wake up normal before, I mean. [Though how you missed a 2x4 is beyond him....]

That seems to be the case for most ... but many of those who were taken, like my friend, had lost their bracelets before. He wasn't restored entirely ...

Neither do I, and I don't like it at all.
