6th slash | audio/action back dated to day 133

[Someone's not happy, and he hasn't been happy since the end of that darkness event. He's been holding it all in to himself mostly, just brooding and stalking around Asgard on his own. Barely talking is something he seems to do when he's over the top angry, and this is one of those circumstances. Someone very.... precious to him died during that event, and upon finding her body he went berserk- killing any Taken he could find.

He still doesn't feel better, he still wants more blood. He'll never forgive those fuckers for what happened with Chie.

so might as well ask Asgard what else he can do to let off some steam.]

....What's a good way to....

[dammit, it's so hard to even talk over this network.] ...I've pretty much ruined all the fuckin' punching bags in the arena... I need somethin' else here to take my frustration out on.

This place is such a goddamn joke, you know that? Help the gods? Get close to people? Fuck that- after what happened with those Taken fuckers.... as far as I'm concerned, I don't need anyone else.

[the strain and bitterness in his tone is clearly evident though.]

[Later on in the day if anyone wishes to find Senji, he's located at the park- and he's putting his super strength powers to good use here. One might hear the sound of something....well, being hit rather hard. Punching bags are no good anymore, but it seems like trees are.... not holding up either. You might even find a few with holes in them, yanked out of the ground, or just ripped in half.]

[Senj's gaze hardens, he seems to toss away that confusion and replace it with the anger he had been feeling before. This can't be her, she died, he saw it. There's just no way.... impossible!]

Who the fuck are you-...?! Chie died, you can't be her....! If you're someone impersonating her I swear I'll rip your fucking throat out....!

[she tenses up as he stares her down, then flinches after she hears his outburst. she knew what he could be like when angered, yes, but she'd never witnessed it firsthand... and never had she thought that it would be directed toward her. but...

there's the fact that he said something like that in the first place. that means he really cares about her, doesn't it? it's not like she's ever doubted it—he's plainly stated multiple times that she's important to him—but to hear it like this...

... now's not the time to think about it, though. she recovers fast enough, standing her ground against him. whatever's going through her head flies right out the window as her temper flares up. she shoots a glare right back at him, her voice quickly breaking out of its impassiveness.]

What the—it's me, idiot! The real deal! Did you manage to hit your head hard enough to forget? People come back after... you know... [ugh, she can't say it. she can't say "after they died." after she died. it's still too soon. she shakes her head, trying to forget that moment of weakness as she continues:] They get revived!

[The way he stares at her is with complete disgust, complete hatred at her words. He can't believe what he's hearing, he really can't.... but... then again....

Can people really come back after they die? He's heard of that before, and he's never really believed it. Back home he prayed and hoped that the people that died because of him would return, that it was all just a messed up joke and he would turn around and his police chief would be standing there smirking at him as usual.

Still.... this is just....]

[....Somewhere deep down, he believes her words the more he thinks about it. He can just tell this is Chie, he can just tell that this is his..... friend? Is she even a friend? He can't quite place his finger on it, but she's nothing like a friend to him, he holds his friends close to his heart, but he has never gone through pain like this before. It's all so strange to him.

But his gaze softens, and he's giving her a look of complete disbelief now.]

It's.... you? It's really you, Chie? Don't lie to me I can't.... [he can't lose you again, dammit.]

[it's that break, that complete change in his demeanor that really gets to her. given what he's told her before, she can guess what's going on in his mind; of course, she's sure she can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for him to be going through something like this... still, she doesn't lose any of her fervor. she's gotten a little too into it now.]

Yeah, it's me! How many times do I have to say it? Am I going to have to do something crazy to prove it or something?

[then, she stops. she knows what she can do. it's almost the figurative lightbulb can be seen over her head. without another word, she looks down and digs around in her pocket, rummaging around in it for about thirty seconds...]

[and then she holds out the police badge he'd given her a couple of months ago. it sits right in the center of her palm, light glinting off of it despite the nicks and scratches on its surface.]

There. That proof enough?

She still has that damn thing?

God, there's so many emotions gathering inside of him right now he can barely think. He stares down at her hand and then back up to her face, not knowing what to even do or what to say. People come back after they die here....? How fucking morbid. He's not really complaining though, but still-...

She's alive, she's not dead. He had killed so many Taken and any of the other monsters around that night because of how angry she was that she died, and he was still out for blood because of it. He endured that kind of pain before, a year of it before he was sent to prison and he lost faith in everyone. He's relieved that she's alive, happy to see her, confused as to how she came back, and angered that she was ever in danger in the first place.

He doesn't even realize what he's doing next, but he closes the distance between them, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her in for a hug, a clumsy one but a hug nonetheless.]

You're the idiot here.... getting yourself killed...

[her first reaction... well. there isn't really one, so much as a "what? what's going on? what just happened?" moment. she can't really comprehend what's going on. she actually almost pushes him away, purely by reflex (blame Yosuke and Teddie).

but then she feels the emotion, the sentiment in his gesture. he's not one to do this normally, after all. god... had she really been the catalyst for such intense emotions? the rage, the hatred, the confusion, the relief... she doesn't even know what she's feeling anymore. without any further stalling, she returns the hug; she can't really wrap her arms around her like he can to her, but... she does her best.]

Maybe we're both just really dumb.

[Oh yeah, he'd never normally do something like this, really, he thinks such a gesture is for pussies but-....he really can't help himself, he just can't believe that she's alive and standing in front of him no less.

He hugs her a little tighter, his chin resting on top of her head.]

Ya know.... I don't think I ever told you what happened to some people that were like family to me. It's kinda why.... I flipped when I thought you were dead too.

[she doesn't really mind it, to be honest. it's... a welcome change, from the "feeling sorry for herself" routine she's been going through lately. she knows it's important to him, too, so she's more than content to continue.

she pauses again, though, when he brings that up. she can tell it's something you just don't tell anyone... he puts that much trust in her?]

[obviously. but she still feels the need to ask.]

[a deep breath before he starts.] You know I was a cop, and you know how tough it was for me and my pals since everyone else was corrupt and there were far too many gangs around that hated me because of my Branch of Sin. One day I got this letter in my locker at work, callin' me out to some meeting to deal with a gang. I thought that was my chance to show how strong I was, to show my chief and my friends that I was.... stronger than they thought. I was just eighteen though, I didn't know anything then.

My chief thought I shouldn't go of course, so... he punched me right in the gut, knockin' me out and leaving with my three other buddies to go take care of that gang. When I came to I.... I saw it.

My friends were all.... they were all chopped up, limbs everywhere and they were beaten and broken- they were all dead. Well, except my police chief... that damn old man. I barely remember what I did next, I just remember him laying there, just a fuckin' torso and I cried my eyes out seeing all of that. I thought I was tough, but I was just weak and relying on them all. They died because of me and...

...And well.... I knew I should have gone looking for you during that darkness shit, and I did- but I got there too late.... as usual. [so of course he blamed her death on himself.]

[she listens to his story intently, not saying a thing. her imagination helps her recreate the moment in her mind, using every detail he's supplied her with; before she knows it, she's holding her hand to her mouth, horrified.]

Oh my god...

[geez, and she thought her situation back home was bad. the more she learns about the things other Travelers have gone through, the more trivial the things in Inaba seem to her in comparison. again, she takes a minute to consider her reply once he's done recounting his story... and again, her voice takes on that stern tone, as her eyebrows furrow.]

... It wasn't your fault, you dummy. Don't you dare blame yourself.

[He realized he was still hugging her, so after a few moments he finally does pull back a bit, but they're still pretty close to one another.]

Shut up- who says I'm blaming myself? [he really is though.]

That would imply I give a fuck about you... [but as he says it he's staring at the ground, oops.]

The way you said all that—why you told me that story. Why you went looking for me, why you got so mad when you... found me.

If you told me that you don't care after all that, you'd be a huge liar. And a really bad one, at that.

[she watches him closely, even after they've separated. she might not be the smartest when it comes to academics, but she's pretty damn perceptive.]

Senji just grunts at that, putting his hands in his pockets and shifting his weight from one leg to the other.

....he's staying quiet because she's right. Dammit.]

[... and all she can do is manage a small smile. looks like she's right on the mark. that smile slowly starts turning into a smirk, though, as she looks up at him.]

What would you say? I hit the dead center?

[she couldn't resist.]

[Ah! When she says that his gaze goes to her once more. He smirks too now.]

Yeah.... I'd say you're on target. Don't get too full of yourself just 'cause you guessed one thing right.

[mission accomplished.]

I won't. That is, as long as you don't try to lie to me again.

[he rolls his eye.]

Don't die on me again then.

I'm not planning on it.

If you do I don't think Asgard will survive.

[he was about ready to tear this whole place down in a fit of rage after all....]
