Ah -- good morning, Asgard! I guess things are back to normal now, huh? That's a relief -- it was pretty scary for a while. I -- oh, you're done with your statement already?

[Conan's making this broadcast from the steps of the hospital, the broad doors with people coming in and out in the background. This Asgard citizen who stops to exchange a greeting with him may look familiar to anyone who saw this post as the corpse in question. Conan waves him off with a bemused smile.]

I've seen a lot of cases, but this is the first time where a murder victim has returned to make a statement! Ah, and good news -- Thea-san's back too! She's just fine, only she doesn't remember anything about what happened. It's a relief to see that this time, it's not just Travellers but Citizens being brought back! I wonder what makes this time so different ... ?

Ah, but that's not exactly right, is it? [Conan's expression shifted to one rather more solemn.] Ne, if you've seen Nakama-neechan and Hibiki-chan's posts then you already know, not everyone is back. Larry-san is also missing and I'm wondering if maybe there's more we don't know about yet. Please check in with your friends and the people at your workplace or favourite restaurant and let us know! It could be important.

Ah, and when I say 'us' I mean the Forensics Unit! We're based in the hospital, but we look into anything weird that happens here. Most of the time we look at suspicious deaths or accidents, things like that, but we also want to investigate things on a wider scale. If you are interested in research and want to help people, please feel free to stop by the hospital laboratory to see what we do, or ask me questions any time! We're currently looking for new recruits.

And on that note, I hope everyone made good use of the emergency kits located in the Welcome Halls and most of the shelters! Especially the candles! [Take that, 'art'.] Seth-niichan and a lot of volunteers helped out putting those together and distributing them for everyone ... Most of them have gone home now, Seth-niichan too ... but I want to keep restocking the kits and making new ones. For that, I'm looking for someone who could be my partner in making the emergency kits, and even take over in case something happened to me.

[This had been nagging her for a while. Samantha was not about to admit to what had happened to Daryl. She still felt beyond wretched about the whole affair. She'd gone back once and looked, from a distance, at where his home was supposed to be. It had changed hands by then, and none seemed the wiser. She'd decided it best not to go any further in looking into the incident.

But, knowing that she actually liked Conan a little and didn't mind the kid's company, she wasn't exactly surprised to hear that he was involved in something like this. It made her wonder how much of a police force there really was here. She hadn't had an episode yet, though there'd been a close call or two, but some questions wanted answers...]

I've been meaning to ask you something, Conan. How much of a legal system is there here, really? The locals seem to be rebuilding it, but it's kind of unclear, especially with how we fit in. Is there really one?

A legal system, Samantha-san? There isn't one.

Well, I kind of thought they seemed to be organizing, but I could really be wrong there. [In truth, it was pretty close to a wild guess. She honestly wasn't sure.] Is there really no form of government around here right now?

ok... Keine's suggestion makes more sense then. It's actually a little terrifying. They should be able to form their own government when they start getting the color back. We're not going to be here forever, after all. At least, I sure as hell don't plan on sticking around forever.

Right! I'm definitely not planning on sticking around here either.

But the citizens here learn quickly, you know. I think if we make sure that they're included in whatever we do, they'll have strong foundations to build their own laws and governments.

Well, if these folks used to have lives before, you'd think getting their color back would help them rebuild that life. Maybe we need to try and interact with the old go...

damnit, you can't tell one faceless from the other. That's the problem. Yeah, finding some people with color to show up at her meetings is a good idea.

That's not quite true. Some of these citizens have spent 39 years without colours. Those over that age have had emotions and colour before but the younger generations were born grey and emotionless and have gone through the motions of growing up, getting jobs, even marrying without colour.

But Samantha-san's idea's not a bad one! If we target citizens about 60 years and over, we should be able to learn more about how things were before.

Oh, crap. That doesn't help much. Yeah, if we can find some of the older folks, we might have some luck. It's not like there aren't presidents and things like that as old in my world, so maybe someone's still around.

...where do the older faceless go?

Let's see -- retired citizens wouldn't need to work. They'd probably frequent the park or the library during normal working hours. Those that work would probably hold the more senior positions.

It's a starting point at the very least. The library's pretty colored already, so maybe we'll get lucky at some point. I'm not going to bank on it, mind you, but it's worth a shot.

How useful would Telepathy be for your group?

I'm glad to hear that you are fine Conan. It's a relief to be quite honest and I've checked up on most of the people I know.

However... You were right with what you said, this time it felt odd. Did anyone document the event extensively? I know it's not easy to ask considering the circumstances, but the better we understand a situation, the better equipped we can be for others.

Ah. We're lucky that most of our worlds have a common enough moral system that we can get along as well as we have, but ... I'm worried about what will happen when that's tested.

Bad things, most likely. I've never really gotten along with law enforcement, honestly, but with my body that's not too surprising. Still, chaos and anarchy's not good either.

It would definitely be useful, but whether we'd be able to use it is another thing entirely.

When the Darkness first showed up, the Natives started having strange thoughts. [...] Or lack of.

I wouldn't mind monitoring a large number of natives, if that helps anything. [He does it anyways...and experiments on them a little.]

Mayhaps a good day out after things have settled down would come well to the citizens.

An event like this could also be very jarring to some.

But in regards to the gathering of information, yes, I do believe it would be good to keep track of such things. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
