I am. It's what I do.

Work's a bit more than archery club on my end, though. How long have you been working with a bow and arrow?

Mostly curiosity. But I'm also wondering just how many fighters here are long range compared to up close and personal.

I'm an archer, back in our world. And here as well, I suppose - I took up an archery instructor position at The Citadel.

For how long have you been using a bow and arrow? And I've seen the Citadel, it's a good idea for helping people get ready.

Several years now. [ about fifteen years now, give or take, but that would only invite explanations she isn't ready to provide. ]

And yes, it is - though I don't see it that way, exactly.

I've a decent enough hand at an assortment of archery though I'm more inclined towards the crossbow and prefer the sword before all else.

I'm just learning archery right now. I don't know if I'm any good yet, but I'm getting better.

I am well versed with the crossbow, I teach its use here in the Citadel. I used it for self defense and the protection of others.

I can kill a man with my eyes closed, but that's something I try to avoid. I use my bow to protect myself and anyone else who needs it.

Haven't really ever tried the crossbow, I've always like manually firing an arrow by hand. It's good to see that you're familiar with close and long range fighting, though.

In case something happens before Ragnarok. War isn't war if there's only one battle to be fought.

Even just starting out is good. Learning is difficult, but if you keep at it, you can only get better.

How many do you usually teach there, and what do you cover?

I've only arrived in Asgard recently so I cannot give you a good estimate but classes are given to small groups - approximately five at a time. So far I've taught basic safety, the structure of the weapon and close range practice. Progress is determined by the students of course.

Good. It's good to know there are others here who know how to protect and do their best to.

[Clint watches, taking note of what's said, and nods. His hands are around his own bow, and he's up top somewhere, watching like the hawk he is.]

Makes sense. I prefer a bow to a crossbow, but being able to teach anyone still counts as being helpful.

I confess I am far less familiar with the bow. The sword is my weapon of choice.

It's really hard on the arms. I've had to build my upper body strength a lot.

Keeping the bow steady and then being able to pull back the arrow is no small feat. It's taken years on my end.

And yourself? Are you versed in other arms as well?

[He merely shifts a little. That would be a no. Other than fighting with his fists and melee, but that's not as often.]

I stick with this for both long and short range. It's saved my lives too many times to count now.

There is much to be said for mastering a single weapon.
