[When the video starts up, you can see a very tired-looking Kate Beckett sitting in a hospital bed. She's rubbing the bridge of her nose for a moment before she remembers that she turned on her bracelet and looks up, giving a small, tired smile.]

Not gonna lie, I honestly have no idea how this happened. But I must have lost my bracelet... [She shakes her head.] You weren't kidding Sam, that was seriously... yeah. Not fun.

If you guys tried to reach me in the past...week? Was I seriously gone a week? Anyway, if you tried to reach me and I didn't pick up...that's the reason. I'm sorry if I made any plans or anything. I really have no idea how I could have been so stupid.

[Kate sighs, rubbing her temple and trying to calm a raging headache she's had since she woke up. Right. The video.]

Conan, I'm sorry about disappearing like that. Especially with all I left you guys at the Forensics Unit...

I'm in Room 212 if you need me. I don't know when the nurses here will let me go. They seem to be really enthusiastic about my state of being, but it's not like I was shot or anything. [Even she cringes at how poor of taste that comment was.]

Hey… [She’s not even going to try and look any less tired than she is. That whole mask she had up during the network video is gone. Kate doesn’t have to pretend with Castle, and boy is she tired.]

I’m…sorry. I didn’t…I know I- I didn’t mean to disappear like that. I don’t even remember taking it off, I swear. Just… I’m fine. Now. At least, I feel okay.

[She’s going to thread her fingers through her hair, pulling it back off her face.]

[He has never been more relieved in his life than when he sees Kate on his screen. She's alive. Castle lets out a long sigh of relief.]

I thought you were dead.. o-or had gone on that camping trip from hell Baldr sent a bunch of people on. But a lot of people I talked to thought maybe you had lost your bracelet.

[He's smiling because he's not mad, can't be mad at her. She's not the first one this has happened to and she won't be the last. All he cares about is that she's alive.]

What do you want to eat?

[She does not like the sound of that camping trip. Especially if Baldr was involved.]

Camping trip? What happened?

[But then she softens a bit. Maybe gives him a little smile.]

Anything. I feel like I haven't eaten in weeks.

According to Lisbeth, a bunch of people got sent to some kind of.. horror camp where they had to fight fire creatures. They've been back for a few days now.

[That's how he knew Kate wasn't with them.]

That's horrible. Are they okay? Who was sent?

Conan, for one. Everyone came back but a lot of them were hurt.

Listen, I'm headed out. I'll tell you more when I get to the hospital.

Conan?

[Well, there is one little detective that is about to get an earful.]

Okay. Thanks, Castle.

[Castle showed up about 20 minutes later with a cheeseburger, fries and a Coke. He placed the greasy bag on the table beside her bed, then sat down in the chair next to it.]

You look like...

[When she got shot. He'd hardly been able to bear that and then she had turned away from him.]

[She definitely lights up a bit when she sees him, and smells the food.]

You're a life saver.

[She's tearing into the bag when he sits down, and when she starts she finds herself stopping and looking at him. It's not even worth trying to deny how much this little trip has reminded her of the last time she was in the hospital.]

Rick, I'm fine. Really.

[All in all, she looked fine but that didn't take away the hours of sleepless nights he'd had since she'd been missing. He honestly probably didn't look much better than her. Castle had stubble on his face and his eyes looked incredibly tired. He rubbed his temples.]

I was worried out of my mind. I thought you were dead.

Detective Beckett! It's great to see you. I'm in Room 316 and hang on --

[Beckett will get a very brief view of a familiar child and a hospital backdrop almost identical to her own before the feed cuts abruptly. Incoming visitor in 3-2-1 -- knock at the door.]

At least you missed the camping trip.

Kate, wasn't it?

[ He vaguely remembers. There are so many people in this city, a Prince has hardly the time to recall all of them. ]

I'm glad to see you've returned safely.

[ there's an immediate gasp the moment she sees the woman pop up on the screen, and Asahi quickly replies. ]

Detective, you're back..! [ She smiles - it's probably out of relief. ] Man, I got so worried after I saw that guy's broadcast about you being gone, I looked everywhere!

Ms. Beckett, it's a relief to know you are safe. We grew worried when you didn't return with the rest of the missing Travelers.

It's good to have you back. [A small, shy smile.] I was a bit worried when that group went missing.

Conan?

[A moment later and oh there we go. Knock at the door.]

It's open! [She waits for him to open the door before frowning.] What happened? Are you alright? [Cause yeah, you might have been in the hospital for long, but she heard about the camping trip. And is not happy.]

So I've heard.

Were you on the trip?

Yes.

[Aw now she feels special.]

Thanks. I don't...it completely baffles me how it happened in the first place, but it's good to be back. For sure.

[Kate smiles back at her, nodding.]

That guy...oh! [Of course Castle would have made a broadcast. She shakes her head.] I'm sorry for worrying you, really.

Charles, please. How many times do I have to tell you, it's just Kate.

[She frowns when he mentions the other Travelers.]

You mean the camping trip. I've heard a little bit about that. I wish I could have been here...

When did they leave? I'm assuming you're talking about the camping trip...

It was on... Day 102 or 103. I have trouble keeping track of the days without a week system, but it was around then.

Have you heard much about it yet? [Her expression is dark.]

It seems to happen to many Travelers. I wonder if it isn't simply a trick of the gods'.

[Conan shuts the door behind, coming over to Detective Beckett's bed without preamble. He'd decided that if she's got questions, its in his best interests to answer them promptly.]

Baldr decided to punish a bunch of us by putting us in a wood outside the city with minimal camping supplies. Only, that annoyed the other gods and they sent him to join us, only without powers. The second day we got attacked by representatives from the fire giants. There were a lot of injuries and some casualties and the wood caught fire, but somehow a bunch of us managed to escape. The third day we could come back to the city ...

[So this is the Beckett that Castle talks about so much, and so warmly.]

Excuse me, Lady Beckett. You don't know me, and I am very sorry to bother you like this, but your friend, Master Castle? He lent me some of your clothes... when it was flooded for that short while.

I've cleaned and dried them since of course, I can se-- I mean I can bring them back around to you, whenever you wish.

[She smiles, try to be as good natured as possible.] Oh, and I am Lady Georgiana Cavendish, it's a pleasure.
