[When the video clicks on, a woman with vibrant red hair (no, seriously, it’s red. The colors of Asgard look pale compared to this woman's hair) and a matching dress (if you can, you’ll recognize it as the height of fashion from ’88. 1888) comes into focus. She smiles a bit, at once friendly and slightly dangerous]

Well! This certainly isn’t what I expected upon waking up to a bright light. I don’t suppose someone would be willing to help a lady out, hm? That maid—if you could call her that—was most unhelpful and not at all polite, to say nothing of the fact that she's apparently a horrible liar.

[Seriously. Does this world look gray to you?]

And if someone could direct me to this “Loki” gentleman, that would be lovely. I have some questions for him that I believe need answering.

[For someone who was just taken from her home, she’s alarmingly calm and composed, beyond that normally expected of Englishwomen of the time.]

So it's a trait of the natives, is it? How lovely.

Well, when the citizens are in their grey state, getting any but the most basic information out of them is impossible -- and there are some subjects that are strictly taboo it seems, such as the gods or the nature of the gates.

As time went on and some citizens regained colour, it was possible to have more in depth conversations, but the restrictions on those subjects remained in place.

Have you been in this place a while, then? You seem to know a fair bit.

Just over three weeks -- though it feels longer.

I see. Is that another side-effect of this city, feeling as though more time has passed than has?

I'm not sure you could call it a side-effect. It's simply a lot has happened in those three weeks -- attack by ice-faeries, a recreation of the Ides of March and most recently the execution and resurrection of some of the travellers by our hosts.

It would appear our hosts have a taste for the dramatic.

[That is a bit amusing to her]

Resurrection, you say?

I wasn't able to examine any of the victims personally, but if what I saw over these bracelets is to be believed, it would be hard to imagine anyone surviving it.

Yet within an hours time, some of the victims were again broadcasting to the network, shaken and outraged, but very much alive.

I wonder if the victims would mind allowing me to examine them. I'm a doctor, you see, and the idea of people being resurrected after death is intriguing, to say the least.

[Especially since she knows the Reapers would be furious if this is true]

There's a few possibilities. The travellers as they call us, have come not just from different places, but it seems different times and realities.

Or it might simply be that our paths haven't crossed yet. I have only been in general practice these last seven months, and it was just on the eve of coming to this place that I opened my new practice on Cavendish place.

Though, I'm sure I would have heard of you if we were from the same London.

Hm, yes, and I would know of a practice on Cavendish. I try to keep up on the latest in London.

[This day just gets more and more interesting]

Speaking of practices, you wouldn't happen to know if there's any here, would you?

Certainly. There is the hospital in Sigyn which is always happy to employ Travellers such as ourselves -- and I run what is currently the only Traveller-owned clinic in Heimdall, though I can't take the credit there. I inherited it from a Traveller who has since returned home.

Oh, so you can return home.

[She doesn't ask how, since...well, she can't.]

Are you hiring another doctor, by any chance? I would much rather work with someone who's skills I can trust over some native, particularly when the natives here don't seem to be fond of honesty.

You don't waste time, Dr Dalles.

As a matter of fact, although we're fully staffed with doctors right now, I am looking for help. I might not be able to offer you full-time hours as a doctor, but I've got three, possibly four young men, all with either powers related to healing or an interest in helping others. I intend to train them in the rudiments of medicine while they work as assistants in the clinic -- would you be ammenable to working with me on their training?

I'd be delighted to, Dr. Watson.

Splendid! Also, do you have any pharmaceutical training?

Some, yes. I'm more comfortable with a scalpel, but I did undergo some training.

Excellent. Well, I'll give you a few days to settle in before introducing you to the clinic -- we've got rather an odd problem to settle in the meantime.
