I've been thinking about my place in this community. It seems that there isn't a real call for my profession with healers around, so this means I have free time to pursue other interests.

Besides reading, is there anything that's worth noting about this place?

[After he asks that, he sighs and picks up his book, opening the cover as he turns a page.]

I'm sure that there will be all sorts of answers. I'm looking forward to it.

Even with the healers here, I think it's safer that anyone who needs medical attention see me. There is no telling if something may happen to put us in the same position that we were in our own world.

Your profession -- a doctor?

There was a game I played with these blades. I wasn't very good at it, and I'm not sure if you would like it, but I could talk to my friend if you wanted to play it, Hatori-san.

And...even if the healers can handle wounds, what about colds and things? Can those be healed? [She never thought to ask in depth questions about her given ability until now.] If they can't, then your skills would be very useful.

So, of course, I'll come see you if I need to. [A smile to that, then a worried look.] But not if you're too busy, I wouldn't want to burden you.

Yes. I am a doctor, and I ran a family practice.

I'm sure that would be something that Kyo or Hatsuharu would enjoy. However, I'm glad you thought to invite me.

[He looks back down at his book before saying the last part.]

It is not a burden Tohru, I haven't had a patient, other than a few slight mishaps, while being here.

I will be sure to invite them, then. I'm sorry I don't know of any other hobbies, yet.

[She's happy he says he's glad she invited him, though.]

...are you working as a doctor here as well? [And maybe she should get a job, but she thinks of that for later, focus is on Hatori, now.]

Dr Watson. I've recently taken over the running of the Yakuzen Clinic in Heimdall. A Hatsuharu Sohma is one of our assistants. Any relation?

I think there are others who are more suited to the role of doctor here. However, I will not turn away those who come to me.

[Oh? Hatsuharu is helping at a clinic? You get an eyebrow raise from the quiet doctor.]

Yes, he is my younger cousin. I trust he has not done anything to make himself a burden.

I think you're very well suited to that role, though. And I'm grateful you would see me, even if I'm not of the Sohma clan. It's so kind of you.... [He's always so kind.]

[He watches her for a moment. She really does remind him a lot of her sometimes.]

It's important that you keep close to the family. If something were to happen I'm sure none of the others would take it lightly.

I'm glad to hear that he is being of use. I will have to talk to him later about this.

[She nods her head to that, remembering how things affected them in the past.]

Of course. I'm in the same house as Kisa-chan, so we'll look out for each other.

What house did you end up in?

I am in Heimdall with most of the others. Hearing that you are with Kisa, I'm sure that will ease a few minds.

I ran a private practice, though it was for my family and no others.

I see. It must be a great relief to your cousin to have you here.

[Hatori just quietly watched him for a moment.]

[That is a -- strange reaction to a friendly overture. Is there some sort of tension between these cousins?]

Well, I wanted to express my pleasure at meeting a professional comrade. If you're ever in the mood for a drink or something, do feel free to look me up. The clinic's in Heimdall, but I live in Thor.

[Don't mind him, he's still a little stiff when talking to others. He seems to pause for a moment.]

I'll keep that in mind. It's been a long time since I've had anyone other than family to drink with.

[He looks up from the pages of his book.]

I haven't talked to anyone from Thor before.

Is that so? Well, I can't claim to be representative. We seem to be a varied bunch.

That goes without saying for any of the houses here.

[She looks in a little better of spirits since she isn't alone in the house now.]
