[ Rei doesn't know what in the world to make of what happened during the Ides of March. He'd been working most of the day, ignorant of the network, until he got off and heard of a few people getting stabbed. It just sounded like a very horrible day for news until he realized the magnitude of the situation.

When he got home, he was met with a bucket of beyblade parts. It was a pleasant surprise, albeit odd, and he'd idly examined them while running through the network of the day and, oh Lord, what was happening in the city?

So, a few days later on a day off, now is his first chance to really sit down with his gift and put together some extra beyblades. He tries to make a few different types—ones that excel in strength, defense, endurance, and balance. He tests each one out at the park until he is happy with them, and then he apprehensively takes it to the network. ]

Hey, everyone. Look, it's been a pretty rough couple of days. I hope everyone is feeling better. I know I'm still shook up from just being around it and not being able to help out as much as I would've liked to. I'm sorry I let you guys down.

[ When he looks down, he seems to be focused on something, training his eyes on whatever is in his hands. His eyebrows furrow as he tries to formulate his next words, careful that he doesn't sound trite. ]

Anyway, I received a small collection of beyblade parts. It's a spinning top game where you put together what's called a beyblade, and you pit it up against other beyblades to see which lasts longer, or which can knock the other's out.

[ He really hates explaining it. He's never had to. ]

This is basically what helps me out when I'm in a funk. It keeps my mind off things, or it helps me think through some important stuff. And since I was able to make a few other beyblades, I was hoping I could share it with some of you. It sounds kind of silly, but it's actually a lot of fun, and... well, don't knock it before you try it, right? I'm at the park if you're interested, and I brought food.

[ There's gotta be some incentive. He smiles softly before shutting the feed.

Now for that awkward bit where you're waiting for a reply.

Meanwhile, he helps himself to a sandwich. ]

[While Rei's reason for going to the park was different from his, the result they expected were quite similar. As it is, he was in dire need of a cooling down after the headache that was the past few days, and he had originally intended to practice a few swings before he drags Hiyoshi out to train with him. However, as he makes his way through the park, he notices the boy and... are those toys?

That catches his curiosity long enough for him to watch him, trying to decipher just what exactly was in his hands. He'll approach soon enough, if he doesn't seem hostile in any way.]

[He'll pay Rei a visit at the park but stop a couple of feet away from the other male, suddenly unsure how to approach him. It's not that he is scared of him or anything, but he does not know how to start up a conversation with a stranger that just invited everyone for a game.

"Hej" just sounds like not enough information on why he is here and who he is, and he does not want to look like some random creepy stranger who just approaches people out of nowhere. Introducing himself with his name would probably only further that, so he needs to somehow describe why he is here and that he saw the message. So how should he go about that best...

Rei might notice a tall, kind of towering figure with a very scary face not too far away, staring at him as if he wants to eat him.]

In other words it's a competition?

[He looks confused. Sorry, Shirou doesn't really spend much time having fun. Nice to see that you've found something to occupy yourself with.]

I might not be good at playing that, but if you don't mind I could bring some snacks over to the park and we could share food with each other.

How about it?

[This one is just going to look at you with interest, whether it's in the Beyblades themselves or the mentioned food, she doesn't say.]

Hmmm...

I wasn't able to help, either. But I'm sure if you had been able to you would have done a wonderful job.

That game looks fun, though! Maybe I'll join you, if that's okay?

[ A sandwich hangs out of Rei's mouth while he practices basic maneuvers with his beyblade. It's actually quite frustrating how much control he's lost of it since he arrived to Asgard, and he worries that his spiritual connection with Driger has been affected by the move.

Since he was lost in thought, Rei is startled when he notices another person just watching out of the corner of his eye. After retrieving Driger, he turns his body in the other boy's direction and waves his other hand. ]

Hey, are you here to 'blade?

[ This isn't the first time Rei has been watched like this, but that doesn't make it any less unsettling. It's awkward each and every time, because it's usually either someone who doesn't know how to communicate that they want to join him, or worse, someone who actually does want to eat him.

So he waves to him, as if inviting him to play, and hopes for the best. ]

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea! And who knows, maybe you'll change your mind about wanting to play. Just because it's competitive doesn't mean it can't be all in good fun.

[ what is it with people just staring— ]

Um, hey! Can I help you?

Yes, please do! I think you'd like it.

Yes, I will, then! Thank you for inviting people to learn and join in.

[As she said, she shows up at the appointed spot, smiling and ready.]

Good day, Rei-san! How have you been? [Wait. She stops, and looks a little flustered, maybe he already meant how he felt by his post?]

...then again, I suppose with what you said over the device, you might be feeling a little down? I'm sorry if you are and asking was insensitive of me.

Maybe.... I'll try. I want to play.

[Sweden takes one step forward and then halts again.]

Hej.

[ Rei's about to tell her he's actually doing pretty well since he's come to the park, but—oh, Tohru. He offers her a small, reassuring smile. ]

Um, asking wasn't insensitive of you at all! You shouldn't apologize for being nice, you know?

Please come! Like I said, I brought food, so that's a good enough reason there, right?

[ oh gosh why is he so awkward ]

H-hey! Would you like to 'blade?

[Nod.

Oh. Right. He should introduce himself.]

Name's Sweden. [Offering his hand while he is still standing too far away from the other male.]

Maybe I should bring something easy to eat.

You don't mind Japanese food do you?

[This is an important question.]

That's true. I never really thought about it before.

[ Rei takes those steps forward so that their hands can connect, but there is still a good stretch between them. Who knows, maybe this guy has personal space issues.

Also, what an odd name. ]

Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you! My name is Rei. [ He drops his hand. ] Wanna get started?

Not at all. I only have simple stuff here, so it's not a big deal. Come on down!

[He is about to take a step forward to take the hand, but then it is dropped and

-no he screwed this up no he needs to figure out how to redeem himself. But at least there is something else that he can jump on, and this should be easy.

He drops his own hand, nods and looks around for where they are going to do this.]

[Oh? Wait. Really? She looks a little relieved to be told that.]

It's just, with your entry...it would be obvious the events might have bothered you. Most people would be upset by it. I know I was. But, thank you.

[Nice? She blushes a little at that. She's nice? No, he's the nice one.]

Then I'll bring some Taiyaki and you can introduce me to this game of yours.

[A friendly smile.]

My name is Shirou Emiya by the way.

Blade? [That's a weird way of using the term. Was it related to the toy he was playing with?]

Just what is that? A top?

Something like that.

[ He grabs his rip cord and launcher from the pouch on his back and preps Driger. He releases it into a ring drawn in the dirt, and the beyblade trails in loose circles. ]

Ideally it would be pitted against another beyblade, but I haven't been able to play with anyone else, yet. Do you wanna try?

[ The other beyblades he's made are lined up on the ground in one pile, and rip cords and launchers are in their own respective piles. ]

Great! Unfortunately I don't have a dish, yet, but I drew a pretty generous circle in the dirt, here. So you can pick a beyblade from this pile, grab a rip cord and a launcher, and do what I do.

[ He hooks his own beyblade onto his launcher, sticks the cord through the launcher, and quickly pulls it out. The beyblade shoots into the drawn circle. ]

Now you try.

Sounds like a plan. I'm Rei; I'll see you in a little bit!

Ah... well, that's what beyblading's for. Let's get started! You pick a beyblade from that pile, a rip cord, and a launcher. Hook your 'blade onto the launcher and stick the cord through the hole in the launcher you see there.

[ He does what he just described with his own beyblade. He tolds it over a circle drawn in the dirt and begins to pull the cord out from the launcher. ]

Then, you let it rip!

[She watches him carefully, and tries to properly thread the cord through, somehow, though, when she tries to launch it as he showed her how, the blade doesn't go very far and she looks embarrassed, though not discouraged.]

Ha! I don't think I did it right.

Alright.

[After he finishes preparing food he heads off to the park!

Now he just looks confused. Where's the guy he was looking for again? Aimlessly wandering around is the way to go.]

[It didn't seem like a conventional toy, though he's quite sure it shouldn't be something too hard to figure out. There was a moment where he was about to say no, thinking about the practice menu he had made for himself for the day.

Just a moment though.

Instead, he comes closer, curiosity winning him over. It wasn't that he thought that he should be neglecting it, not really, but he did tell himself he'd need to make some effort in at least trying to get to know the individual hobbies of the people here. It wasn't like Hyoutei at all, and he had to grudgingly admit that he wasn't exactly getting very far by expecting others to bow to his whims here.]

Very well. Just how do you battle with this toy?

't must stay 'n the circle?

[He wonders how to accomplish that. There seems to be no way to control them after launching them.]
