Day 523 - SOS - Amber Alert
[As if the cries about some evil soul has filling the pool with piranhas wasn't bad enough later in the evening another alarm goes off. The SOS activates, the shrill noise piercing through the city with the sight of long pink hair falling to the ground as if just cut. Suddenly the world is spinning, the fading light of the sun washes everything for a moment before there’s a splash and the entire image blurs. Silence fills the feed, the light twisting and dancing along the surface of the water.
Towards the edge of the lake a piece of paper flaps a little, folded in half pinned there along with a few of the locks of hair. The message is written in a manner that is made to look almost identical to the graffiti that had been painted on the walls on day 517. It reads “The ashes of your existence will fertilize the soil for the universe to follow.”
Yuiko is nowhere to be found and the bracelet will be sitting in the water at Gefion Park. There won’t be much else there, no signs of a struggle, or of any unusual traffic accept for a Longtoothed Reinhare that seems rather distraught.]

Then she realizes there's only one person she knows with pink hair. It doesn't take her too long to reach the scene of the crime - though it is by luck alone that it is so, and luck by which she manages to find the bracelet, along with the note. Her eyes narrow dangerously as she reads it, and she silently prays it's not what she fears.
If it is, whomever is responsible for this is dead.]

[He grunted in irritation and then growled, his teeth showing. He didn't have any particularly close affection for Yuiko. They didn't know each other, but her ears reminded him of Nepeta, and that alone was enough to make him react.
So, he was already out, stalking into the middle of the park, bristling and barring his fangs. It wasn't quite curfew yet, but he really wasn't that worried about that right now. Of course, a hulking, snarling gray-skinned brute did look suspicious considering.]
[Action]
[Caught by surprise, Maribelle whirls around, looking at the stranger.]
Have you seen her?
Re: [Action]
[For some reason, he gave her an apologetic look. It might have been hard to gauge, but he was sincerely sorry for implying that he didn't think she was strong enough, but ... well, that wasn't what he perceived as this one's strong point, not from her appearance.]

[He's looking decidedly displeased when he arrives, but at least he's taking it seriously. Yuiko wasn't always the brightest, but that meant she was honest and not at all suspecting, which was nice for him - and probably whoever caused the need for an SOS, too. Since Maribelle and Equius seem to have beaten him here, he'll go ahead and approach them first.]
Well, it isn't like terrible people haven't slipped past us before. [Hello Satan.] What's the situation? I'm with the City Patrol.
[Never mind that he's taking this slightly more personally than usual.]
Re: [Action]
[He glanced back at the young man and cocked his head before nodding once.]
So far, I have found nothing of note. There is little sign of a clear struggle, but that's to be expected. She was not a fighter in my opinion.
no subject
I couldn't agree with you more. Whomever did this is a dastard of the lowest order.
[Sniffing, she glances back at the young man.]
My friend is missing. I'm afraid I don't know anything more than that.
no subject
[Hmm...]
There aren't any tracks left behind? No dragging marks or anything?
no subject
I am not exactly skilled in the arts of tracking, but I have not seen any obvious signs of a struggle or dragging. I would presume that she was hauled over the shoulder, though I wonder if the natives might have seen this.
... what are the odds that this is a native, in fact?
no subject
[She frowns, shaking her head fiercely for a moment.]
I very much doubt a native could have done this, somehow. The ones I have met hardly seem inclined to stoop to such lows.
no subject
[And boy are they difficult to deal with.]
So absolutely nothing was left behind? What about her bracelet? The signal led me here - did it get left behind?
no subject
However no, not even her bracelet seems easily found. That alone is a significant concern.
no subject
[But then she spies a glint in the water, narrowing her eyes.] But what is that? Goodness, it looks rather like...
[Either it's jewelry someone left behind, a shiny stone of some sort, or...]
no subject
...The gemstone's from Freya's house. This must have been hers.
[Even better...]
Well, whoever took her, they've decided to give her the grey-sickness to top it off. That's going to make it even harder for us to locate her.
[What a headache.]
no subject
There is no way to solve this while she is in that state. Recognition is next to impossible, even with more of them having their color returned.
no subject
I, for one, shall certainly not give up. I will search every inch of this city and ten some, if I have to.
no subject
[He scratches at the back of his head, looking fairly exasperated.]
...I think I'll try handing this thing off to the guards, at least. They seem to have a knack for returning bracelets to their owners eventually. In the meantime, you two should probably head back for now; it's fine if you're concerned about your friend, but getting caught after curfew isn't going to do her any good, and I don't feel like hauling a couple of do-gooders off to jail because of it.
no subject
Regardless, I will not be out past curfew, not if she has been rendered gray.
no subject
[They can stick up MISSING posters and everything, what fun.]
Glad to hear it. I'll alert the other city patrol on what we know, so hopefully someone will be able to track her down.
no subject
If you would let a lady speak...?
[After a moment or two, she nods, as if to herself.]
I do agree with enlisting outside help, but I wish to send a message. If you two would give me a moment, I would be most grateful.

He returns to them with a frustrated expression.]
Yeah, I'll keep you two updated. If we find anything. We might just have to wait this one out until the guards get to her...

Later.
[And with that fairly unenthusiastic parting word, he's off.]
no subject
Good evening, gentlemen. [And with that, she's off... but she doubts she'll be getting very much in the way of rest tonight.]
