So how am I supposed to know for sure that this thing is even working?
[ A quick glance to someone or something off screen and then oh. disappointment ]
Well I suppose I should be thankful that the… creepy maid isn’t standing there and looking over my shoulder, like the Revered Mother. She was always looking over my shoulder like she expected me to be the troublemaker, the one "up to no good". Or maybe she just looked at everyone like that. Not to say there wasn't the occasional mischief, because Maker's breath but the Chantry was boring. I think I would rather stand off against the Archdemon alone than-
[ And that seems to snap him out of his reverie and back into reality. he clears his throat and takes on what he hopes is a more authoritative tone ]
I'm Alistair, a Grey Warden of Ferelden. I know the eerie maid said something about this place being called Asgard and obviously not Ferelden [ And he believes her because of reasons. like a certain lack of being part of the darkspawn hive-mind kind of reasons ] and while I'm sure your situation is dire enough to need another strapping young warrior -- so really, I'm not exactly sure why you chose me when there's at least ... well, countless numbers of women and children who'd be better suited, if Morrigan is to be believed -- this is sort of a bad time for me, having been about to go up against the horrendously dangerous Archdemon who's been leading the big scary darkspawn against my home and all. Nasty, awful things, Blights are.
Of course that's not to say that I'm not willing to help you if I can... [ He just needs to get back. Quickly. Today, even. Today would be good ]

That's happening.]
Yeah, bad news. These jackasses like to recruit kids too. On the plus side, there's no archdemons around here anymore. The last one I saw disappeared a while ago. Used to run one of the local nightclubs.
Welcome to Asgard, 'fraid you're stuck here.

Nasty past experiences tell me that I probably shouldn't believe you.
[ Because assuming things about people you don't know is the right thing to do, isn't it? ]

[She's got a bit of a snarky look on her face as she says this. It's not that she can't guess what's up, at least on the surface. Her usual assumption is 'horned red-head = demon = bad thing.' So, it's not exactly a surprise to her, but she's not going to outright assume just yet.]
Believe me or not, you're going to run into a whole bunch of kids around here, everywhere, some of them with lots of powers for someone their size. As for you being stuck here? Yeah, you'll figure that one out eventually too. Been trying to boost this place for months.
Just don't take the bracelet off. Bad things happen after a day or so if you lose it, bucko.

[ The rest, though, he quietly listens to. Well, quietly for now. Children with powers is no real surprise to him. Mages come young, after all. Eventually, he'll probably come to discover just why it's a little off for some people.
As for being stuck here... ] What do you mean by 'stuck'? And what sort of bad could possibly come from removing a bracelet? [ Barring the fact that it's obviously enchanted or something ]

...
Moooving on. You're stuck, as in you can't escape this world unless the jackasses who call themselves gods let you go. If you remove the bracelet you'll turn into just another of the faceless throng, like the creepy maid you met when you showed up. It'll take about a day. You won't remember who you are or why you should care until one of the guards gives it back to you and you wake up shivering in a ditch somewhere.
Think Tijuana, only without the tequila. [No, she doesn't care if he gets the reference.]
