D482 // Video - Group project
[The shuffling of papers and some sort of metallic object getting the last few details hammered into it could be heard in the background before a few friendly faces appeared on the screen.]
Buon pomeriggio Asgard!
Aladdin, Tony Stark and I have been working on a project for a few weeks now and I think we are to the stage where we could use some help with it. That is if anyone interested in a light weight armor with the added protection of runes? We could use a few volunteers to test the design.
We need people with all sorts of different shapes and body types for this. It's important to get all information we can so this will work.
[Aladdin says over his shoulder, he is doing a few last minute checks on the rune work.]
Si, just as he says. So would any of you be willing?

Hey, chance to meet an elf! It works!
No relation to the elves of Asgard? I wonder if they come anywhere near close to living as long as that. You must have seen so many things!
everyone is happy!
I do not think so - at the least, we do not seem that closely akin - the language is different, for one thing. Oh there are similarities, of course - I have been working with Master Dumbledore to do some translation work - but no more than you might expect for folk with similar cultures and tastes. A turn of phrase that is almost alike, a word or five that sound almost familiar... and so on.
[ A small wry shrug ] Aye, one does. I have watched Men rise and fall and rise again, even as the star of the Eldar fades.
That's the best kind of situation.
Mi scusi, the Star of the Eldar fades? I do not know entirely what is meant by that but it does sound a great deal to me like the slow death of the world tree or, another friend of mine spoke of a World Tower that threatened to collapse, do you think this star fading might b a sign of your world's collapsing?
teach him Leonardo Sempai <3
Soon, within a few generations, we will fade to myth and legend, and perhaps in time I will be the last, and we will be only fairy tales told to children. But Arda is young yet - the Dagor Dagorath - the Final Battle, is not yet at hand. What of your world, Master Leonardo?
Maybe they can learn from each other!
[That still seemed tragic to him but not as bad as say... their complete destruction. That would have been horrible.]
Much of my world has not been explored yet. It is still common belief that the world is flat instead of round, but I come from a time of great discovery where new innovations are happening all over. When I have been able to return there I have not noticed any sign of the coming Apocalypse, the tower of the Palazzo della Signoria still stands in Firenze, the water still flows through the canals in Venezia. Everything seems normal and as peaceful as it ever is with the different families struggling to gain more power.
yes! they can sit around tea and wine and talk at each other endlessly
[ He listens eagerly to Leonardo's description, drinking it down as a man does who has been given his first glass of water in a desert ]
Mm, an age of discovery tis always a fine thing. I am glad to know that it remains safe, however. What are they like, your cities?
He should drop by the workshop, this is a normal occurance there!
[Just as Maglor listens intently to his descriptions he finds himself leaning closer to the screen to listen the other man's very more floral words. This is fascinating! ]
Each city is very different. Firenze is built along a river with several bridges that cross from one side to another. The Duomo is the most iconic building. It is a large grand cathedral whose roof contains a dome that was built entirely without wooden supports.
Venezia on the other hand is a city built on the water, in a bay on several small islands. The waterways and canals crisscross all across the city and it is home to some of the finest architecture in all Italia. Something tells me you would really enjoy it there.
... he would probably love the workshop, it'd remind him of home ;A;
It... We do not age as Men, physically - not unless our souls are wearied and deeply scarred. But for us, injuries to fea - soul, I suppose, or spirit - do not heal as easily as those to hroa - flesh, certainly not as easily as Men seem to. We... it is possible for us to die of grief, if the wound to the spirit is deep enough. And in the lands of Middle-earth, grief is inevitable. War and killing, the loss of friends, the change of time... we cannot forget, and all such griefs mark us. Eventually, the wear of years will tell on our hearts and souls, even, they say, in time our bodies also. The only cure for that is Elvenhome.
[ He shrugs - he is weary, himself, but he is Feanorion, he will not Fade. They are all notoriously stubborn ]
They sound lovely, your cities - grand ladies. I would like to see them, one day. Venezia in particular! A city on the water, how lovely! Which is your home?
It certianly does look homey, lived in
[Imagine centuries of that! No wonder Elves eventually faded away. ]
I...
[Well, he scratched at an ear sort of hesitant to admit this. ]
I am not sure I have a 'home' city really. I lived in Firenze while I was working as an apprentice and my family lives nearest to this city, but I moved to Venezia after that, and I often travel between there and Milano. Right now my workshop is in Venezia so I suppose it is there.
As strange as it might sound Asgard has become something of a home too. Each city does have it's good and bad aspects.
haha, its the bustle and the crowd that he misses...
[ A smile, and the shadows are tucked back into their corners ]
Well that might be said of many places eh? And I suppose if a place is lived in enough it certainly becomes a home of sorts. Does your heart call you to any place in particular? Although I suppose with cities so fair as you describe it might be difficult to choose!
Him too, his workshop at home always had others working in it
There is a place, I try to go back there as often as I can. The area around Vinci in Toscana. It is where I was born and where I grew up. Countryside for as far as the eye can see and plenty of mountainsides to go camping on.
You have a place like this too? Your Elvenhome maybe?
apparently I really needed this CR and just never knew it?
If I had the ability to return to it, aye I suppose that would be true. These days Asgard is as much home to me as any place, for the road home is closed to me.
Your home sounds lovely Master Leonardo - a perfect place for sitting and being, and also for inspiration, eh?
CR that sneeks up on you!
[(I'm sorry.)
He had fumbled into that pitfall. Here he had been trying to steer the conversation in a more happy direction and... really messed that up. Ezio always smiled like that when he was deeply upset too. ]
It is a beautiful area. I have never seen the like of it even around Asgard. I would be lying if I said I had not used it as a backdrop for several paintings.
Since you are a patron of the arts, at least as far as music is concerned, maybe you would like to see some of them? I have a few paintings here in Asgard.
damn you maglor you're supposed to be emo stop making friends with everyone
No, tis not your fault - you did not know. Ah, truly? I would not mind at all. I never had a skill for painting - that gift when to my cousins and brothers - but I would love to see the hand of a master again.
Its not working, I think you made a buddy
Consider this an open invitation!
oops? XD
Then I shall treat it as one, my thanks Master Leonardo! The tea, at least, I can aid with - have you a preference for type?
Yeah darn... I hate that randomly making friends thing. :P
[There were a lot of interesting flavors of tea you know. ]
Why not bring one you enjoy and we will try it?
how odd XD
[ He never knew there were so many flavours, Middle-earth has been sorely deprived! ]
Aye, will a few days from now suit?
It is!
[Otherwise the clutter might overwhelm.]
do you want to play any of this out or handwave it?
