[ well this is new. there is no face to go with the name 'Jamie Moriarty' but there is certainly a name attached to this little greeting. ]

Good afternoon, Asgard.

This introduction is overdue and I fear I can do nothing about that fact aside of asking for your forgiveness. I trust you will all understand how busy and demanding times in this city can be.

I hear you are not overly fond of riddles which I do not find odd. What is Asgard if not a complex riddle? But I would greatly appreciate if you consider this one. I trust those who would solve it shall find themselves with an interesting subject to discuss.

I'm afraid I prefer Shakespeare's and Spenser's forms, but it is a clever enough riddle.

Being of the British island myself, I share the appreciation for Shakespeare. But without Petrarca, he would have no form of a sonnet to make his plaything.

Petrarch's importance in the development of poetry can hardly be overstated--but speaking personally, I'd rather read of the Dark Lady than Laura.

[ Stella, Laura, it's all the same. change the name and get a book of beautiful, sad, pining, heartbroken sonnets. she considers the point before making her own. ]

My love is as a fever longing still - indeed. is she very different than laura? they fill the same poetic role.

I find it difficult to imagine Petrarch saying of Laura,

And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.

I'm afraid we haven't been introduced. Evelyn Carnahan - it's always a pleasure to meet someone who appreciates literature.

Probably not. Or he would think it of her and never think of writing it. Alas, we can never know, unless the gods somehow miraculously bring him forward to answer such.

I hope the day meets you well, Evelyn Carnahan. It is as equally refreshing to meet someone who knows the music of a verse.

[ it's a neat little game, isn't it? she writes 'hope' and Moriarty would say 'expect'. she never did understand hopes. ]

Long enough to find myself in need of an intelligent conversation.

[ which is a compliment of a sort. Jamie used to count Sherlock as the only one equal to her but since then she had learned. she doesn't want to make the same mistakes again. not with Joan Watson, nor with anyone. So she doesn't dismiss easily even if it is tempting. ]
