[The feed flicks on to reveal a rather irritated-looking Lyon.  However, the words out of her mouth and the cheerful tone she's using don't match the expression on her face whatsoever.]

You know, I was thinking... maybe I've been too quick to judge the gods and their motives.  I mean, they're making the best of a bad situation, after all.  Actually, it was really nice of them to let us have a say in what happens to our worlds in the first place.

[There's a pause as she grits her teeth, but only praise flows from her mouth when she opens it again.]

We should really be thanking them for everything they've done for us.  After all, it isn't as if they have to give us a place to live or food to eat, or even grant us these powers.  Maybe we should take this opportunity to try to understand them a little more instead of arguing with everything they have to say.

[A deep sigh and a cough.]

Just... think about it, all right?  We've all been a little too hard on them.

[At this point, she lets out a noise not unlike a growl before shutting off the feed.]

((OOC: Lyon's mouthed off on the feed one too many times, and it looks like Heimdall's finally had enough of it.  If anyone has ever heard the phrase 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all,' that's more or less what's going on here.  For the next week, whenever Lyon feels the urge to lecture someone, correct them in a harsh tone, disagree with something someone has said or even just complain about things, she will be able to utter only words of glowing praise in place of whatever it is she actually wants to say.))

The true runes? You put your faith in stones?

No, they're not stones. The True Runes are ancient mystical symbols of power. They can grant amazing powers to whoever wields them, but they also have a will and a mind of their own. The kingdom I come from was almost destroyed by the power of the Sun Rune just before I came here.

How powerful are these ruins if they can bring end to Queendoms? Do you use these runes?

I had one of them at home. It wasn't a true Rune, but it was still very powerful... it was called the Twilight Rune.

[robb]

And what could this Twilight Rune do?

[ legitimately curious because in a world without powers, hearing about them seems genuinely interesting. ]

[sparkling_eyes]

It's a very powerful offensive Rune, capable of calling down the powers of the sun and starlight to defeat one's enemies. But it's really the most powerful when paired with the Dawn Rune and the Sun Rune, the other two Guardian Runes of the Queendom of Falena.

Do you use it like a weapon? What does the rune look like?

[ a beat. ]

Are these runes common in your Queendom?

[sparkling_eyes]

It takes the form of a mark on the back of your hand or your forehead. Each Rune has a different symbol to represent it, and it's really only visible while it's being used.

True Runes are very rare, but there are lesser Runes with similar effects that are sold in shops.

How do you use it then if you do not attach it to your weapon? Is this sorcery?

Many of your people have these runes? Is this not cause for chaos in your Queendom?

[sparkling_eyes]

Yes, that's right. The Runes are a form of magic. And it's not just Falena - people all over the world have them. It's just part of how we live. Only the True Runes have personalities and goals of their own, though, so it's not as dangerous as you might think.

I hope your Queendom never finds itself at war. Such circumstances seem difficult when people fight with magic instead of steal.
