-Emancipated minor. Been that way since I was 15. No parents. Raph became my guardian. He said no. He's not here to stop me now. Why the hell not, right?
I want a barbed wire band around both wrists. A tiger or a Hell Hound on my back.-
well i guess that depends if it sticks when you get back to whatever planet you can from. my guess is probably not. just wouldn't want you to get in trouble. i try not to be too bad of an influence
there's not anything i can really do to stop you if you really want that's just how people are. they do what they want especially when you tell them no
but you should really think about it. if it's going on your skin it should mean something to you. me? it's hard to explain most people just think it's tribal. kind of is i guess

[video] It's alright. We can chock it up as a glitch. XD
[He gives up on trying to mess with the device and switches to video. A very young looking, wild haired youth appears on the screen and sighs.]
Damn thing...anyway, I've seen tribals done an' they're pretty awesome when they're done right. Guess if it's somethin' that means to me and tells a story, it would have t' be a cross, fire, barbed wire, a seal an' death with an angel lookin' down on all of it.
[Geez, this guy wasn't kidding about being a minor.]
You're... you don't look goth. Eh-- [A wave of his hand.] If that's what you want, and it means something, it's your skin it's going in. Life and death and all that.
I'm what's called a living example of why goths exist. Don't like their fashion. I got another side to this. See, it's hard to decide on the devil woman on a bike ridin' into Hell or the Grim Reaper gettin' a blow job from the same devil woman with an angel givin' a reach-around.
[Of course it's hard to tell if he's joking or not.]
I'm gonna think on it. I'll be stuck with that ink for the rest of my life, mate. See, even when I was in prison, I turned down gettin' inked.
Never know 'bout those needles or who's been done with it. Not exactly sanitary with gettin' done with a prison built model. Not t' mention the bad artwork.
Don't be too proud of that, kid. I have half the mind to think you're kidding.
Everyone's dysfunctional to a level. [He would know.
He's been the angle to pickle them for their woes.] There's a point where it isn't cool. And I hate to break it to you, but human beings are pack animals.
There's always going to be a social pecking order.
[Now, he's not sure what to say at this point. In a big way, he could have sworn he heard Raphael in his words and his smile is wiped clean.]
I wish I could say that I fit in somewhere t' make that pack. Back home, here, it don't matter where I am. I have nothin' in common with anyone. Guess that makes me th' odd one out.
If it wasn't for my boss, even Raph would've left. They all eventually do at some point.
[That's not saying he hasn't tried. He has and was kicked aside more times than he wants to recall.]
[Desmond takes this sort of thing pretty serious, bro.]
If they leave? You didn't need them around. You make a niche. [And you don't give up on it, either.] There are going to be people that drift in and out. Some that leave, some that don't. That's life.
It sucks, too. That much you're dead on the nose.
But there's always a place for people.
[It's a lesson Desmond had to learn the hard way, and it took having to live through Ezio's memories to finally get the point through his thick skull.]
Everyone's got friends somewhere. Sometimes you just haven't met them yet.
[The friends he made here all left but one and he's a detective.]
Just for argument's sake, let's say you thought you knew someone well then they turned out t' just use ya for their own gain. Is that what friends are supposed to do?
It's gotten to that point that no matter what, it just winds up as some sort of warped circle. I saved lives...I met a few really cute girls an' nothin' came of that. Guess I'm sick of bein' nice.
I heard that too. Look, I'm not discrediting what you're sayin'. You got your points and they're good ones. Changin' isn't easy for some t' do when shit's handed to ya on that platter.
[He runs his fingers through his hair. The thick locks poke back up.]
I know where you're coming from. Gasp, I know, something everyone says. Trust me, after scrambling around, with literally nothing to your name, trying to carve out a living? I've learned a thing or two about change. Hard to change when it's all you've got to survive with.
[A shrug.]
So, I dunno. You'd need a better idea for a tattoo than barbed wire, if you ask me.
[He tilts his head and wonders if this guy knew a lot more than he let on. Even more so is the commonality that he just said. He knows about survival. It's a language that curved along the streets.]
Huh. It's not that adaptation isn't against my grain, that's the opposite. Changin' to match the surrounding demograph, yeah, I'm no chameleon that's for damn sure.
[If Desmond could remember too much about Chicago and New York, he'd be able to paint a better picture. But, hey, the general idea is still there. There are somethings you just don't forget, broken psyche or not.]
Didn't say it was against the grain. Survival, yadda, yadda. But I've said my piece, so... you can change the topic if you like.

And apparently more of a bad influence than I am.
[He laughs.]
Call it attrition of a social order. Nothin' says that life is pretty and yeah, I'm dysfunctional.

Just giving helpful advice.
That saying's there for a reason: you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar.

[He runs his fingers through his hair. The thick locks poke back up.]
So you're point of this conversation was a gauge?

[To be perfectly honest, Varon has yet to meet anyone that he connected with. Desmond is a lot like Raphael only more vocal.]
