( joan takes a moment before recording. she has just recently woken up and, despite the dreamlike elements to it, she knows that it was real, that she had in fact gone home, if only temporarily. )

Hi, I'm Joan. I've met a few of you when I arrived a while ago.

( she pauses, proceeding carefully. ) When I recently woke up, I remembered things that haven't happened yet...at least, things that couldn't have happened if I'm still here in Asgard. But I know they were real. I'm not sure I understand it completely though. ( there is a question in her voice, but she doesn't vocalize it anymore than that. )

I guess what I want to know is whether or not it's safe for that to happen? ( this became a concern for her after realizing how much time had passed.

she asks less for herself and more for sherlock. it appears as though sherlock is also going through a similar process, though he hasn't woken up yet. although none of this necessarily surprises her as much as it would have prior to her arrival in asgard, it does concern her. joan is careful not to mention sherlock in this though, especially when there's multiple moriarty's running around. )

It's happened to plenty of people. Doesn't seem to have any lasting damage. It's ... pretty absurd, but so is everything in this place.

Apparently not. The gods would most likely explain that away with magic.

Is magic ever not the explanation? ( maybe a little bitter because really, it was getting old a bit too fast. )

Seems to be their main power source. How they run everything.

I'm not sure how I feel about using it. I guess it's convenient for us, being able to heal others but I think I like doing it the normal way.

That's what you've got? Lucky. Sometimes it can do things the normal way can't.

[ Sometimes he wishes he had it. ]

Sorry, I had just assumed we both had the same one. ( she hadn't really met that many who had the other power. )

What do you mean?

The magic can heal things we couldn't with our knowledge. Wounds that would bleed out before we could do anything. Things like that.

[medica]

( that was a blow to the stomach. joan looks away, visibly upset. it's true that with time, wounds heal, but there are some wounds that have a tendency to remain raw. when she speaks again, her voice is quiet. )

Yeah, I bet that's really helpful.

[ Oh.

He didn't really mean to ... Uhm. How to save this?

Maybe it's best to just ignore it. She probably wouldn't want to talk about it with someone she hardly knows. Which he is, despite them being ... Well. Each other. Technically. ]

[ That didn't really go as planned, so he clears his throat uncertainly, and looks away. ]

( she takes a few moments before saying anything. ) I guess it's probably a sign I should try to learn how to use them. ( it could be a tool like any other, after all. )

How about you though? Have you been learning to use your power?

I've used it plenty, yeah.

[ To help others, and all that. ]

( she nods. it's a realization that she really does need to get on this, learning to use her power here. )

Is there any sort of organized hospital or clinic here? ( it probably wasn't efficient just looking for people who were hurt. )

[hadbadays]

There's a hospital, I run a clinic, and I think there's another one that doubles as a sort of café.

[medica]

Any reason you don't work at the hospital?

[hadbadays]

Another Watson was running it when I showed up, and he was a bit short on staff back then. Asked me to help. Then I took over when he went back home.

[medica]

That's nice of you, to continue it.

( she takes a moment before continuing, as though she's wrestling with an idea. )

Well, if you need an extra pair of hands, please let me know. I'd be happy to try and help.

[ He'd suggest she could help him with her healing magic, because he really lacks people helping out with that. Because he never got the time to follow up on it last time. Bah.

But he'll wait until she feels more comfortable with that, perhaps. He ought to advertise for it again anyway, and then she could always offer. ]
